Find out what European restaurants to try in Moorea. The world's largest coral reef eco-system actually consists of 3,000 separate reefs. The island of Moorea serves as the perfect base camp for snorkelers and scuba divers seeking to come face-to-face with the diversity of life that darts among the coral. Non-swimmers can enjoy the same parade of astounding creatures from the dry perch of a glass-bottomed boat. Formed when half of a monolithic volcano crumbled to the blue-green sea, Moorea is an achingly exquisite heart-shaped island that is simply paradise found.

We had lunch here and found the food and service pretty average considering it is in a 5 star hotel. I had a salad which was very bland, my friend had tacos which were cold and not great. The service was slow and very junior. On the bright side, the location is stunning with fab views over the lagoon, the water bungalows and Tahiti. Was a very pleasant place to sit for a few hours and relax with a beautiful view. Probably wouldn't go back, as you can find nicer places to eat which are better value for money with equally stunning views.Dear trip-chick-munich,Thank you for your comment. We are sorry that you have had a bad experience in our Restaurant. We will share your remarks with our F&B team. Please be assured that is not the way we usually welcome our guests.Warm regards,Anabelle VignonGeneral managerSofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort

Revisited this restaurant on second trip to Moorea the following year, hosting 12 friends. There was only one other table of 4 people in the place. On the surface, we were thrilled with the setting and thought it was lovely over the water. But things went down from there. It took 20 minutes to get our first drinks...water, and a couple bottles of wine. Another hour goes by and 4 of us were served dinner. Another hour goes by, and 4 more of us received dinner. By the THIRD HOUR, the remaining 4 people were served their dinner. Two of us didnât get the full menu meal (only salad, no main course, no dessert.) By now, were were exhausted, frustrated, and decided to leave. The restaurant charged us full price for our dinner, without apologies or discounts. As a host, I felt embarrassed for having recommending this place and everyone left grumbling. The reason the waiter gave us was that two cooks didnât show up. Unfortunately, we will no longer recommend this as our go-to place on Moorea. Two stars because the location is superb.

We are just back from an amazing 2 week trip across the Society Islands where we tried many places from local joints to high end restaurants always with good food and good service... Except this one...The service was OK but definitely less friendly than what you normally get in FP. the food was reasonable until the dessert... the 4 of us had ordered the selection of ice creams/sorbets and basically could not eat it... at least 2 out of the 3 flavors had turned bad: one tasted like old cream and the other had a funny garlic taste to it ... Neither the waitress nor the hostess seem interested in handling the issue when I mentioned it.. nothing was taken off our bill and no replacement was offered... I would normally have pushed harder but being on vacation and ready to jump into the pristine water for another great snorkeling, we just paid and left ... and won't come back... instead we went for an amazing ice cream to Caramelice later that day...

WIFI-free
We were staying at Les Tipaniers beach hotel, where the restaurants were not great, and expensive. We ventured out on bikes loaned out by the hotel to get to this place. We saw good reviews, so we popped in for lunch right before they were to close at 2:30. Heads up here, things close in the afternoon, so don't let your vacation be a starvation vacation. We had a pizza and a salad nicoise. Both were big servings and really good, surprisingly good. I think the pizza, which was about a 12 " cost about $19.00, again, stuff is kinda pricy, and the salad might have been about the same. $3.00 soft drinks, and $5.00 beers. I didn't mind the cost, as it was good food.

We were told about this place by locals and it did not disappoint. It is fine French dining in a very small setting. The owner picked us up from our bungalow. The dining experience was excellent as we watched a beautiful sunset in Cook's Bay and enjoyed seeing the sharks and sting rays swim beside the restaurant. The owner has lit the water and will feed them so they come to hang out. I had the Mahi Mahi plate and it was excellent. My aunt had the ravioli and loved it. Prices start at $33.00 a plate and it was an excellent experience. You need to call ahead for reservations as there are limited tables - 15 I believe. The waiter was wonderful and the food was delicious. The owner's cat will also make appearances. I was excited to see that as she happened to look exactly like my cat. All in all, it was a wonderful experience with the restaurant and I highly recommend it.
