We visited this beautiful restaurant this week during our stay and had the best food of our whole trip in Italy. We both opted for the steak with green peppercorn sauce and after the first mouthful we were in heaven! It was beautiful. We had a great table in the outdoor seating area, which has spectacular views over the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. The service we received was impeccable ... extremely friendly and welcoming. Next time we're in Tuscany, this place will definitely be on the agenda. Well done to everyone at Il Gusto & Il Tatto. Thank-you for the wonderful experience. I love it when restaurants get in right in every way.

Located in the heart of Il Castelfalfi - Tui Blue Selection, La Via del Sale offers authentic Italian cuisine that combines the freshest ingredients, handmade pastas and local recipes. Enjoy incomparable Italian delicacies at the restaurant or just take i
Staying in the hotel, we decided to sample the in house restaurant, it wasnât really to our taste. The overall atmosphere is a touch stiff and subdued.Staff are welcoming and attentive, although a touch formal for my taste. For in the quality of venue the bread is unimpressive. In general the food is salty, meat, potato, sauce, each one salty in its own right. The truffle starter used picio, a regional thick rolled pasta, something finer would have done better to compliment the generous serving of truffles. The steak and mushroom main was well cooked, other than being too salty. Not sure weâd have had potato side if we hadnât asked.Choosing the estates own reserva chianti which weâd had in the estate trattoria 5mins up the road, it was most disconcerting to find it priced 50% more expensive in this restaurant !! A bit more is understandable but â¬40 for your own estate reserva sold for â¬27 in the village (which itself includes a markup) is had to reason. I try to offer balanced views and find the positives - a tough ask in this case. The sister restaurant La Rocca is better atmosphere and value for money. Sorry to say but someone at the hotel needs to consider this - during this stay we had better food & wine in a village restaurant for 1/2 the price !!Dear ReallyBadHat,thank you for sharing with us your review about the fine-dining restaurant La Via del Sale, inside the 5-star hotel Il Castelfalfi. We are glad that you appreciated the attention to details of our staff and the refined cuisine of our Executive Chef Francesco Ferretti, although sometimes a little bit salty for your taste.Thank you also for the detailed feedback on the wine, the truffle pasta course and the steak. Especially for the truffle pici, we think it's important to highlight that the Chef decided to use this very Tuscan traditional kind of pasta to enhance the flavour of the truffle, thanks to the special feature of the pasta that allows to create a delicious cream! Anyway, thank you for all your feedback, which are always very important to grow and improve in the quality of our service and cuisine. We are glad that you also tried the gourmet restaurant La Rocca and the trattoria Il Rosmarino during your stay in Castelfalfi, and happy to hear that they meet your expectations! To meet the different needs and wishes of all our guests thanks to the several gastronomic offers of our Resort is what makes us so special!Looking forward to welcoming you back at Il Castelfalfi!Elisa BiaginiMarketing & Communication Supervisor

Easy to miss this wonderful little restaurant tucked around a corner in the square but it's a must for anyone who loves great food. We were welcomed in and made to feel at home, a genuinely friendly atmosphere. Don't expect airs and graces or your napkin tucked in for you but do expect fantastic food. The cheese starter followed by wild boar stew or salmon followed by steak and mushrooms are to die for, but do make room for the desserts of the house. Altogether a delightful experience and lovely people. Grazie mille!

We visited this restaurant for lunch on our last day in Castelfiorentino. The chef explained the menu in detail and upon seeing that we wanted to have fish and seafood, he offered to put together antipasti and primi, some of which were not even on the menu. The food was excellent and the portions were ample. There were 3 types of dessert on the menu and we ordered the pannacotta and chocolate millefoglie to share between the four of us, having previously gone through three courses. We were wowed as the chef served the chocolate fondante soon after, despite us not having ordered it. This was simply divine and what's more, it was not added to the bill!Definitely one of the best meals we had whilst on holiday in Tuscany.

The dishes served by the competent staff are of great quality, freshly prepared and from one occasion to the other according to availability of the base products (e.g. fish).Great wine list, however somewhat overpriced.Kitchen deserves a complement and elevates the adjoining UNA hotel to a higher level.

We ate there twice. First time was good but second time steak was really salty and I couldn't eat it. Still was charged for it though. Not sure we would go back.

We are staying in town for several days and decided on pizza and salad for dinner and IâChiampa was perfect. The server was very nice, the salad was fresh and the thin crust pizza was delicious.

Luckily I had read the reviews about this place being next to the gas station, and spotted it while leaving Gambassi terme. Had a great fried fish platter and some good wine. Too windy to sit out, but good view from terrace.

We had a perfect evening at La Rocca. First we got a very friendly welcome when we arrived. Then, throughout all of the evening the service was very friendly. And of course most import: All courses we ordered were very yummy. The chef definitely deserves the awards he got already! Besides of all this, the location is beautiful as well. This restaurant definitely is a strong recommendation for everyone loving delicious gourmet food and who is in this area of Tuscany. Dear Martin B,it is a true pleasure to read such a beautiful review.Thank you for your comments and for choosing the restaurant La Rocca for your Tuscan dinner! We hope to welcome you soon again in Castelfalfi!Best regards,Elisa BiaginiMarketing & Communication Supervisor

My husband and I visited San Gimignano for the first time and for one night only - this was a perfect restaurant selection... we enjoyed veal appetizer, lasagne, wild boar and traditional vegetable/bread dish ... atmosphere was beautiful and Andre our waiter was very helpful . Unfortunately we were too late to get a table outside but inside was very nice also - local Chianti was excellent - recommend this restaurant !
