Find out what European restaurants to try in Mdina. Graceful Mdina, the stately town known as the Silent City, holds court from the southwest corner of the captivating island of Malta. The commanding medieval Old City perches on its rocky promontory, its fortified bastions looming above the azure waters of the Mediterranean. This enchanting Maltese city offers a warren of narrow streets, populated by churches, palaces and gracious houses, punctuated by large squares and delightfully free of cars in its UNESCO-designated ancient quarters.

Dine in truly romantic surroundings beneath the flowering Oleander tree in the vine-clustered courtyard during the summer, and by candle-light and an open log fireplace that keeps the restaurant warm during the winter months. The Medina presents a selecte
My pilgrimage to Malta would never be the same without my date at this place. An evening stroll through the gently lit streets of this beautiful mini-city followed by walking into this historical restaurant, glass roofed, intimate and charming. The menu is well stocked with local specialities of course including rabbit and extensive local wine list. I had a light dinner as it was my last night in the country. Only foody criticism I should offer is the fruit gels in the ice cream...hmmm(?) All was super although getting the right member of staff to serve you is important otherwise its a little agitating....I'll be back, as someone slightly more famous than I once said......Thank you for taking your time to post a review on TripAdvisorWe are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your last night in Malta in our restaurant!Your kind words have been warmly received and we hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again very soon! Many thanks and kind regards.

Slightly off the beaten track within the âsilent cityâ most people miss this excellent little restaurant - their loss. There is a good selection of tasty, local fare and seating available both inside the restaurant and outside in the square. The best part of all is that it feels peaceful and a little oasis apart from the masses patrolling the streets of Mdina a few yards away.

Easy to miss in the winter months as it's quite small and not open until 19:30. Really glad we found this small venue.Operating from a rotating blackboard menu, the food was great and "local". Service was attentive, the host was well trained and delivered a smooth service.Vegetarian friendly with a few interesting options to choose from.

Not your typical touristy café/snack bar near St. Paulâs Catacombs, Il-Baxa is but a surprisingly great dining place with absolutely amazing homemade pasta and soup. Their food is brought up in an old elevator chute, hot and fresh! I really cannot recall a better place for fresh pasta outside of Italy. Thank you for sparing your time to review il-baXa. We take feedback seriously and consider all comments as encouragement and opportunities for improvement. It was a pleasure hosting you.

We had an event here and it was perfect. The restaurant itself is really lovely but the grotto itself has the "wow" factor and our guests were super impressed. The staff were fantastic and made us all feel comfortable. The drinks and canapes were great. I can't speak highly enough of this place! We will be back - highly recommended.Dear Hira, Many thanks for such great feedback. It was a great pleasure for us hosting your event. We look forward to welcoming you again soon enough. The Fork and Cork situated in saqqajja Hill Rabat Malta ( nearly by the old capital city of Malta Mdina ) Offering a la Carte menu which changes every season and daily specials of the day
Had the most wonderful meal here after watching the sunset at Mdina. We had already seen it had great reviews and it really didnât disappoint. The service from both Liz and Paula was friendly and efficient the restaurant was busy, but they always made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious we chose from their specials and had the swordfish tartare and the fish and coconut soup to start, both were so flavoursome a real treat and the rest of our meal also chosen from their specials was just as good. If youâre looking for amazing food and great service look no further! Cannot recommend enough!
