Bridging the gap between country inn & local restaurant The White Oak is an independent and contemporary 'Gastro Pub' where the kitchen & service sets out to please. A L Carte & Set menus also decent value (£15/19 for two/three courses at lunch and dinner
Saturday lunch for 5. Starters superb. Chicken liver parfait and smoked mackerel pate excellent. Main courses great. Cannot comment on puddings as we didnt have any. Service excellent. Slightly expensive but still value for money. Definitely a place to return to.

We have been here a few times now and the food and service always seems to get better. The staff are so very friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic and well-presented, always cooked to perfection. It is nice to be able to enjoy your meal without staff hovering and waiting to take the plates away.Really excellent place to dine with family and friends. If you visiting in the area, or indeed live in Berkshire, then book a table and enjoy a magic evening.

Brought to you by Michel Roux O.B.E. and son Alain, Roux at Skindles is a value-for-money, contemporary brasserie with cocktail bar in Taplow where you can pop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just a coffee or snack, at any time of day. Michel and Al
Exceptional location on the River Thames and overlooking Maidenhead Bridge (dating from 1775). Food: Have been there several times (live closely) and they are all excellent. Never a bad meal. All fine dining or more. Many historic. Meat, fish, prawns, veggies, deserts all top-notch. Manager is Maxine and he is charming, charismatic, and efficient. He has Roux heritage. Two caveats: parking is just outside but can become full. Overflow parking then is a little further away. Noise levels can rise making conversation difficult at peak times. Needs additional sound-proofing.Try their boat (they do have one â talk to Maxima the excellent manager). Take river cruise with Rouxâs staff. Also the bar balcony is wonderful and heated. Lovely in both Summer and Winter.Michel Roux drops in occasionally with Amanda (my ex-GP). Lovely couple. Reserve early as weekends are busy. Mondays closed.

Small place but very friendly serving polish food
This place was recommended by our B&B hostess. From the outside it may not have the glamour and glitz of other restaurants but the proof is in the pudding. We opted for the dish of the day which was an onion soup with cheese and meat dumplings followed by a coated pork loin with a fried egg on top and potato salad. The portions were very generous and very filling, at very reasonable prices. When we first arrived there were very few customers, yet within half an hour it had filled up. We sat in the window eat watching the evening life flow by outside as we ate. The young female waitress did a superb job by herself, taking the orders from diners, serving the dishes, cleaning up the tables and settling the bills - all with a smile on her face and no complaints. First time we have eaten in a Polish restaurant and it won't be our last. Thanks to all.

We were looking for a nice independent pizza restaurant near Cliveden.Pizza Della Mamma doesn't look much on the outside but the service and food were fantastic. The pizzas were cooked in a wood fired oven and tasted great. Our two boys really enjoyed the food and the waitress was really lovely.Highly recommended.

Churassco Grilled Grilled Chicken served mild, medium, hot or barbecue
Not having easy access to a Nandos was frustrating until I found this place about 10 minutes down the road from us. The first thing that really signs through is the amazing service, it definitely has that local feel and the restaurant is bright with a view of the kitchen. Both times we managed to make it for the early bird deal which is half a chicken with side and a drink for £10 which is decent value. Decently sized portions and in my opinion much better quality of chicken, the sides are ok, nothing spectacular. It's a restaurant that leaves you satisfied but misses out on the wow i need to come back here tomorrow factor you'd expected from a 5 star restaurant.

We were a large group eating supper at the weekend and had a wonderful time . The food was excellent and we had friendly, charming, efficient staff . Our only small issue was that the back room we sat in got very hot , as it was very full . Other than that, they catered for our vegetarian guests well ( although these days, I would expect more vegetarian food on the main menu ) and we all thought the food absolutely delicious . The most popular dishes were a wonderful cheese souffle to start ,fresh truffled pasta and fantastic Italian doughnuts for dessert . Hope to return soon .Dear KentKritic,Thank you for your lovely review. It's great to read that you and your vegetarian guests had an excellent meal with us and take on board your comments about the temperature of the room and extending the choices for vegetarian diners (we always endeavour to offer off menu choices catering to dietary requirements). Many thanks once again... your kind words really are appreciated by the whole team.Best regardsJames D

We had such an amazing visit here today. The food was just incredible and nothing was too much effort for the staff. My husband had the normal menu but they managed to do mine competition dairy free with only a couple of very minor differences. Most of which could neither be seem nor tasted and wow the food was good! Neither me nor my husband drink alcohol but again the staff provided us with an alcohol free pairing of drinks for our meals which tasted delicious and fit with our meals perfectly! We cannot thank the staff enough especially liam who went the extra mile for us and had a little tag made especially for us to take home for our cat to wear, as well as a special money box for my husband with the springboks rugby team logo on for him to store his coin in during the meal. Such a wonderful day out for us and a meal we will never forget. Thank you all for making it so psecial for us.
