Excellent food, original and very good presentation and balance, both starters and main courses, small selection. Wine selection (too) small. Music annoying, service friendly and not intrusive.

This restaurant is one of the reasons why we keep returning to Wendisch Rietz every year. It is small cosy private establishment with excellent food and pleasant service - you will often see the owner behind the bar personally serving both local customers and the numerous visitors. Our all-time favorite dishes are their burgers - they serve a selection of classic beefburgers or even a pulled-pork burger aptly named "Miss Piggy". Washed down with "Bitburger" on tap what more does one need? Two thumbs up! Well worth a detour to pop-by!

This restaurant is located on a spectacular place on the riverbank. The sscenery is very nice. In good weather the outside terrasse is really worth it. We where a party of 5 adults. To get the menu went fairly quickly. To order it took a bit more time. The starters (a small fish soup) came after 20-25 minutes. The main course took 30 minutes. Not the biggest fish dish I have had. Was good, but a little dull. Eating also at another good restaurant in the area I was not quite satisfied with the small dishes as this place is not especially cheap. The waitress was excellent. We also rented a tread boat. Our river trip was fantastic!

Don't get put off by the newness of the restaurant and the outdoor terrace. The food is tops and the view over the Dahme river is rewarding. On a hot day, and this summer had many of them, there was a refreshing breeze at lunchtime. I had an excellent calf liver Berlin style, with stewed apple and mashed potatoes. My wife had the filled gnochi and chantarelle mushrooms which she also liked. Afterwards, or before, take a stroll along the Dahme river on the path adjoining the restaurant.Dear Leslie,Many thanks for your feedback! We are very pleased to hear that the both of you enjoyed your stay at our restaurant and liked the atmosphere! We hope to see you again. Best regards, Sylvia and the team of Villa am See

The atmosphere at this place is unrivaled - it sits on the lake, and has tiered seating, so there isn't a bad view anywhere! I had a steak which was good (not great, but very good). Honestly, though, I would return just because of the atmosphere. It was a beautiful place to sit and enjoy some wine, good conversation, and good food. I definitely recommend a visit!

When we came here, the staff was all excited and apparently a little overwhelmed, since we were a group of five and came at the same time as another couple. Probably they didn´t expect somebody on this snowy day. So ordering started a little slowly but soon enough everything was back in normal. The menu was quite small, maybe 10 dishes, but sufficient. It even contained a vegetarian option, which is not always available at other restaurants in the countryside.Prices are modest. The room is quite small but furnished affectionately. When the weather is better, there is more seating outsides.Staff was friendly.
Beides ausgezeichnet. Dazu noch eine Original Schweizer Rivella Limonade. Empfehlenswert!

This is an unpretentious restaurant on the lake shore with great views across the water, extremely polite service and perhaps some of the best steaks in Germany. Our favorites are the rib-eye steak done medium (the chefs know what they are doing so the steaks remains beautifully tender and juicy) accompanied by jacked potato filled with sour-cream plus a platter of garden salad. There is, however a great plethora of other choices to suit every palate and a good selection of beer on tap or bottled. The place gets very busy on weekend nights - better to secure a reservation if want to make sure you get in. Definitely worth visiting!

Tucked away in a corner of this pretty village, this recently converted and renovated (flour) mill is very atmospheric on the outside, while inside being very pretty, comfortable yet retaining a rustic country feel. There is a circular first floor balcony (previously used for milling?) also laid out with tables. Very attractive. The food - in our case pork hock with vegetables - was beautifully prepared, freshly cooked, very tasty and we accompanied this with an excellent regional white wine on our patrons recommendation. The overall bill was around £30 including coffee which I believe to be exceptional value.Note that there is an adequate off-road car park and a playground for kids. The village contains a small supermarket and a bank-o-mat.This restaurant also has rooms available which were not seen, but we were told are suitable for travellers and wedding guests. To reach this restaurant, on the east-west autobahn E30 (A12) just a couple of miles east of the Autobahn Kreuz with the A10, turn off at junction 2 and head south into Heidesee. At the end of the village just before the railway line, the Alte Muehle is tucked away on the right, with its own car park.
