I was told about this cafe when asking where was good for lunch and I was not let down. Friendly service and tasty food - I had a toasty Sandwich and fries and it was delicious. Reading my book when waiting the server jokingly told me it was time to put my book away and enjoy the food when it arrived. Looking forward to being in Hastings again so i can have another great lunch

Focal Point Cinema is Hastings' newest boutique movie theatre complete with a fully licenced cafe, open 7 days from 8:00am. Focal Point brings together high quality, modern cinema entertainment, a plush 1930's art deco décor, fantastic comfort, and a warm
I'd not been to this cinema in awhile and it made me realize that I need to get out and see more films on the BIG screen. Management of this small chain with multi-screens in Levin, Fielding & soon Palmy North do an excellent job of blending cafe experience with a modern comfortable cinema.Plus, the starkraving audio system really makes you "feel" the sound...sort of a surround sound.Excellent local wines from Linden Estate, Clearview, Ashridge and others by the glass -- and served in a glass, not plastic, for under $10. Good value.

Next to Golflands.
Went on Motherâs Day, which meant it was busy, but not hugely so. From the get go things were poor. Weâd booked by email a week earlier but they had trouble finding our booking in a very poorly organised schedule. We were seated in the dining area that looks like itâs still under construction. We were given menus, but as we learned later they took the all day breakfast off, leaving a limited lunchtime menu only. That was a pity as weâd gone online and had looked forwarded to certain meals. Nothing online told us that the all day breakfast would be cut on Motherâs Day. We ended up ordering the fish & chips, chicken linguine, pumpkin fritters and cheese burger. The food came out quickly. The fritters were beautiful (thankfully, as thatâs what the dual birthday girl/mother ordered!), the linguine and fish and chips were nice, but the burger was very bland, in fact it was simply tasteless. Our service was very average. The waitress was neither friendly nor informative and we had to ask for water for the table. Weâve been here a couple of times but i think this will be our last. Quite simply there are so many better options throughout Hawkeâs Bay offering better food, or setting, or service or mostly all three. Dear RickM638,I am sorry that we did not live up to your expectation on Motherâs Day.We are going through some renovations and had hoped to be a little further on by Motherâs Day. It is a very busy day for hospitality, and we did our best to keep all areas in service. We obviously failed to let you know at the time of your booking that we were only operating a breakfast menu between 8 and 11:30 and a lunch menu from 11:30 until close. For this, please accept our apologies. We do this primarily to ensure all our guests get a speedy service and do not have to wait too long for their food. Please understand that there is a big difference in volume of customers on Motherâs day compared with a normal day, I am please you mentioned the food came out quickly. I also appreciate your feedback regarding your meals. We have recently updated our menu to focus more on buying local and supporting our local Hawkes bay producers. The menu has only been going for 1 week and your feedback is most useful. I will bring your comments regarding the burger up in our management meeting tomorrow. I am pleased you enjoyed the other meals. I too am a fan of the fritters.I hope we can welcome you here again.Johnny

I organized my Mum's 80th birthday lunch for a Saturday in late Winter with around 12 guests. The setting, service, food and presentation were all superb. The set menu was easy to organize with the chef and was fresh and seasonal. They even organized a vegan alternative for one of the guests which was tasty and innovative - not just a plate of veges. We brought our own cake for dessert which the kitchen dressed with our candles and decorations, then served it with ice cream and coulis afterwards. A lovely touch was a plate of delicious sorbet for our vegan guest so she did not miss out on dessert, as the cake was not vegan. The price was reasonable, they placed us in a private spot so we could have speeches and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We left feeling thrilled for Mum and thoroughly recommend St. George's Restaurant for good food and beautiful ambience. We were delighted to play a part in celebrating your mum's 80th birthday and so happy that you enjoyed your afternoon with us. We hope to see you again

The historic Vidal winery and restaurant has closed as Vidal has moved its winemaking site to the Gimblett Gravels. Instead you can now taste, buy or sample our wines over lunch at the Te Awa Cellar Door and Restaurant, located at 2375 State Highway 50 ju
The cheese platters are interesting and the double cooked fruits are divine. We have 6 different types of wine for tasting here. My favourite is the Shiraq Red wine. It's a nice place in the evening for wine tasting and dining.

We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed and memorable Hawkes Bay dining experience. Our menu provides a taste sensation of local produce with a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern leaning. The dishes are designed for sharing and can be enjoyed with the premium
Another excellent meal at TeAwa The ambience is truly relaxing and wonderful, the service is efficient and friendly,.My husband and I chose the slow cooked lamb shoulder roast and it was delicious., we bypassed desert for coffee and if I have any criticism,it was that my coffee was lukewarm. Next time, I will specify piping hot. Te Awa is a firm favourite of ours
