I was in town for business. I had been to this restaurant once before about a year ago, and gave it high praise. I went on a Tuesday night with a colleague that hadn't been here before. We both had the filet steak with pepper corn sauce and split some chianti. I started with a caprese salad and had tiramisu for dessert. Everything was very good. The funny thing is the company we were visiting took us here the next night not knowing we had been there the day before. No complaints though. That night I had the sea bass which initially came while but they offered to bone it table side which I appreciated. With more colleagues in town we went again the next night. This time 4 of us split a couple pizzas for a starter. The diavola and one with artichokes, ham, mushrooms, and maybe more. I could see the dough being tossed from the table in the kitchen. I went with the sirloin steak which I enjoyed. The last night there was only 2 of us, but returned for the 4th night in a row. I went with the lasagne which was a 3.5/5 for me. Overall this is a very good restaurant, good food, service, and ambience. The location was convenient from either hotel zur krone or Mercure. Price was reasonable as well. It's worth noting the the 4th night was a Friday night and they were quite full. When greeted at the door and asking for a table it didn't look promising. However the waiter that had served us 2 of the 3 previous nights recognized us and found us a table. That goes a long way in my book. I would definitely recommend and return myself as well.

Went there today for my birthday dinner and had the veggie burger. They sever large portions for little money. The burger came with wedges and salad for only 8,90. What i liked the most though is that it didn't come in a tasteless burger bun but in a nice and fresh ciabatta bun. The staff is very concerned about your well-being and that everything is right. Over all the restaurant surprised me as a whole and the food was DELICIOUS.I can only recommend it to everyone.

I had breakfast here with a friend. Although they have a nice outside sitting area we preferred to sit inside for our breakfast. We ordered from a breakfast menu and found everything we were looking for - from an extended German spread to a croissant with jam. The service was fast and friendly. The interior matches the historic outside of the building. I enjoyed this cafe very much.

I was there a couple of days ago. It is a small restaurant (6-8 small tables), comfortable and nice. The pasta was delicious. The tagliatelle with shrimps were excellent. We did not try the pizza, but it looked really nice, too. Very good service, for a good price.
The rustic Forest-Restaurant Schliekers Brunnen is known as the "wishing well of Hamelin" where the babys come out to get taken by the delivery storch. We offer traditional german dishes like Schnitzel and Bratkartoffeln (pan fried potatoes). As well you'
die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet, das schmeckt und merkt man auch, der Chefe des Lokals ist sehr nett und hat immer etwas lustiges auf den Lippen

I enjoyed a meal at Gastatte Reichsadler on a midweek evening with my traveling companion. We arrived to find the bar and restaurant packed. One of the servers gave us little hope of finding a place to sit for dinner. Waiting patiently, the owner (I assumed) was accommodating and found us a seat. This was not an english speaking establishment, nor the menus. We both had Schnitzels and they were generous and well prepared. The "hunters" variety was the best. Our beer choices were limited, but adequate. The prices were reasonable, especially for the portions provided. I also noted at an adjacent table that patrons were having steaks. They looked excellent for Germany! My experience has been that Germany tends to have expensive and not the best quality steaks from an American perspective. I may have to try a steak on a future trip. This is a locals place and if you are inhibited, you best not venture in if you are uncomfortable with that situation. I however highly recommend Gestate Reichsadler for good food and beverages.

La Fontana is an authenic Italian restaurant in the Old Town area of Hamelin.Surprisingly, it sports a delightful restaurant garden, accessible through a tunnel from the restaurant proper. The Italian cuisine menue is extensive. We ordered (1) a shared antipasto plate, then (2) basil and goat cheese gnocchi, and (3) melanzane-alla-parmigiana. All were nicely presented. Tastewise, #1 and #3 were OK, but positively lacked a touch of garlic, and even some salt. # 3 was just perfect. The service was attentive and timely.Overall, a good dining experience, albeit there is room for improvement.

I regard this as the best beer hall and eatery in Hamelin. The Krug has real character and the ambience is wonderful. The service is friendly and efficient and they serve a wide variety of traditional dishes. The rat theme fits perfectly with the whole town's theme and no matter what the weather outside, you will have a good time. I met some delightful locals and despite a language barrier managed to have a great time.A must visit.

This restaurant is set amid lovely woodlands on a hilltop just outside Hameln. The building is old and attractive but the cakes we had were only ok, rather than great. We sat outside under big umbrellas in glorious sunshine and neither the coffee nor the cakes matched the setting.

So I lived in Hameln for 3 years and never knew this place existed. I visited for the first time today with family and friends and I was truly surprised. Great selection of pancakes, never knew you could have pancakes with so many different options. The environment is really relaxing and romantic. This is the type of place I can imagine relaxing with a bottle of wine and trying a pancake with a different filings.Worth a visit if you happen to be in Hameln.
