My friend suggested that we dine at Barcelona's. I had never heard of it before. It is a lovely cozy restaurant located on Western Avenue in Albany by the SUNY campus. It has a Mediterranean ambiance. From the outside it is not impressive but once I walked inside the simple tasteful decor caught my attention. The staff was very attentive. There was a small bar which was busy. It had a romantic charming atmosphere. The menu had a nice variety of choices and dinner for two was $60. For dinner I had the seafood Alfredo's which was delicious. The portion size was perfect. I must confess I ate the entire dish. The fish in the dish was cooked to perfection. My drink from the bar was perfect as was the service. We skipped dessert because we were too full but a couple at an adjacent table had dessert that looked yummy. I will definitely return to Barcelona's. There is a parking lot and we did make a reservation which I would suggest.

We had a terrific meal, in a very relaxing environment tonight. They have a new menu that is pleasing. Some of my favorites are gone, but they are considering bringing some things back.
On the second Friday of each month the PCC serves Polish dinners that are delicious and economical. A whiteboard lists the choices: pierogi, kielbasa, golumki and a combination plate. Polish desserts. Also Polish beer.
