We enjoyed soothing hot chocolate, crisp, warm toast and a generous portion of apfelstruedel at this pretty, wood-paneled place. Located in the corner of the village square, you can sit outdoors or at the window seat to enjoy picturesque views of this pretty little village at the foot of Mount Grossglockner.

Wonderful lunch. And the saiblinger (local fish.... arctic char) was prepared to perfection. Not overdone, as is too often the case with fish. That's the mark of a chef who knows how to cook! Great soups and meat dishes. Topped it off with verlangerter coffees. Yum.
We unfortunately chose this place for dinner. We ordered "Angus Steak cooked medium rare with roast vegetables". My steak was medium at best, my wife's was overdone. One waitress told us she "had to eat it" saying we should have said we wanted medium rare! When we pointed out that the menu said "medium rare" she told us we were wrong. After she finally checked the menu and found we were correct she ran off to the kitchen - no apology. After a further 20 minutes - and a question from me about the delay - my wife finally got her meal. Again it was not medium rare, but we gave up at that point.

Excellent staff, helpful in meal selection. Little Italian known. Very tasteful meats, topped with particular dressings, ranging from hot and spicy Chili-like to fresh berries. Great value, worthy a visit when in the area.

Nice restaurant with the ususal Austrian dishes but also an international card with nice inventive offerings. Service is brisk and sometimes friendly. Good wine list and excellent beers.
This is a very good place to stop for a good lunch after a great walk.Very friendly service and an excellent salad bar. Unbelievable choice and quality. The other courses werealso very good.
Creaking floorboards, crackling fireplace fire, friendly people, culinary experiences, breathtaking nature. In the summer beer garden with wood ovens.
Heerlijk eten. Je kunt a la carte eten of gebruik maken van half pension. Je krijgt dan elke avond een ander 4 gangen menu. Zeker een aanrader om het avondeten er bij te boeken!

Food was fine, service was quite good (although the server forgot our drinks a few times) and food was average.

Restaurant direkt an der GlocknerstraÃe. Schöner gemütlicher Gastgarten. Wir servieren Spezialitäten aus der Region. GenieÃen Sie Abendstunden am offenen Kamin mit Essen am heiÃen Stein.
We stopped here on a recommendation from our Hotel. Just looking at the building is worth it but they also have a museum in the basement. Not a big one but still a museum. Gem stones, gold and minerals are part of the buildings history. Anyway, back to food! It was delicious! The waitress lit the fire and we sat for a few hours eating and relaxing. The waitress did not speak English well but that didn't matter. As in most places, with enough effort, you can be understood. The sauces on the meat and side dishes were excellent. We ate here twice, the second time on our trip to Austria that we did so. It is not expensive at all, well worth eating a meal or two here.

We spent a couple of days in Heilingenblut, a neighboring village and this restaurant was offered by our host. It was a good recommendation. The service was super fast like in a McD, the portions were big, typical countryside taste and the interior was rustic. Definitely a value for the money.
