We enjoyed a late Christmas get-together in a party of about 40 at the Foxfields, somewhere we hadn't been to for a long time.  I had the pate, chicken and sticky toffee pudding,  having chosen from a menu some weeks earlier.  All courses were good and the service excellent.  The dinner was followed by a sixties singer with some music for dancing.   Whether it was the huge meal I had consumed or not, I found the ladies' loos a bit of a squash to access.  However we will return to the venue before long and I will plan to eat a little less!

A Greek style restaurant in the heart of Clitheroe. A family Run business in the Beautiful Swan Courtyard. Serving Greek Style food, with traditional flavors. Bringing a Mediterranean twist to the Ribble valley! We have a range of dishes, serving lunch an
Letâs start with the food. Tasty, well cooked and delicious. Reasonable prices. But sadly overshadowed by the waitress staff. Waitresses.. disinterested and there to socialise not serve people. Completely unprofessional conversations in front of customers. I know which one if you slept at a boys house on Saturday, who drank too much at the weekend and who wants to dump their boyfriend. On their phones messing about. Not idea when your out for a meal with your partner. The food would have been a 5 but I cannot award a 5 With the service. Hence the 4. The chef was friendly and polite.Thank you for taking the time to review us, we sincerely apologise that the service was not up to the standards we hold ourselves to. As the chef and owner i am glad you enjoyed the food but massively disappointed in our staff, we can assure you that we will be dealing with the situation. If it would be possible for you to contact me by email so we can rectify the situation. Our email is [email protected] we hope to hear from you soon.

Traditional Italian restaurant with warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent service. Very accomodating of my choice of meal as not on the menu but should be, as very delicious. Seafood risotto. House wine is very nice too. Dear tril27Thank you very much for your positive review on all aspects and especially the fact that we were happy to accommodate you with a meal choice that wasnât on the menu but that you said was so good that it should be! We will definitely be adding it at some point. We look forward to welcoming you again soon

We visited for sunday lunch, taking guests that hadn't been before, following a disappointing previous visit. We have been several times over many years and always enjoyed our visits, and have always recommended it.We were seated downstairs as requested and were brought menus and ordered drinks.I ordered Tio Pepe(or Fino)but was brought Amontillado. When this was pointed out the waiter rather condescendingly told me it was the same as Fino. I pointed out it was not, he then said it was all they had, despite Manzanilla being on the wine list.Starters were ordered and swiftly came. My seafood gratin was tasty, but not very hot, and the scallops were almost raw. The cheese topping was congealed rather than melted. The main courses followed quickly. The beef was tasty, I had one slice and my partner had 2, which seemed odd. We ordered desserts which were acceptable but not outstanding. I really don't think serving in a tall glass, no plate, looks very attractive, and difficult to eat with only a teaspoon. Surely sundae spoons would not be difficult to provide? This is where the service faltered. Its as though they all disappear on a break. Half an hour after finishing the desserts, we were still waiting to order coffee and could not attract attention. We did eventually, and it then took 15 mins to arrive. The young staff try hard, but need more training, and also need to smile!!I feel that Sunday Lunch is an overrated and over priced experience at the Freemasons. We will return but maybe we will stick to dinner next time.

2nd visit to Scholars restaurant. And yet again it didn't disappoint. Every course was superb. I had the most amazing soup stater. Followed by Lancashire cheese pie, vegetables and sauce. Chocolate mousse and ice cream. My wife had Thai fish cakes starter. Beef Wellington with vegetables for main. Lemen posset for desert. All were first class food. And you can also have a nice glass of wine. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. 5 stars for us. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, you support and feedback is appreciated. We hope to see you at Scholars again soon.
