We were camping and it was raining hard so decided to escape to a pub for a meal. The pub is beautiful inside with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Very dog friendly. There is a limited menu which I think is a good thing that places focus on what they do well. The sharing platter starter was delicious. The mains - steak for me and steak and ale pie for the husband were good just not quite five stars. Just a bit of a lack of gravy in the pie and no veg with the steak. The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious.

We dined here in October 2019. Everything about this restaurant is absolutely spot-on - the relaxed, warm welcome and similarly relaxed atmosphere are in contrast to the technical quality of the food and the well-balanced service, which was attentive without being in your face. The accompanying wine flight was expensive for what it was, but I'm not going to begrudge that because it's all part of the experience of dining in a remarkable restaurant such as this. Definitely coming again.

Lovely cosy restaurant although allowing lots of space for dinners between tables, it was a relaxed and almost casual feel. Tempting menu choices - do NOT miss the snacks pre starter. We have the Comte puffs and Truffle pudding - oh my goodness me. They were amazing. Superb staff - so knowledgeable, friendly, professional and accommodating. We also had breakfast here both mornings - incredible experience itself. Beautifully and thoughtfully presented - memorable for breakfast alone! Highly recommended.
