Few km from highway entrance, min the way to/from Plitvice National Park, Most is a nice place by the side of the road to garb a simple salad and some local cheese. No gastronomic experience here, just simple and honest fare.

There aren't many gastronomical options in Gospic to choose from, but I'm convinced we chose the best one.First off, our waiter was extremely kind, pleasant, attentive and very helpful with his recommendations. For starters we shared some yummy grilled "skripavac" cheese wraped in prosciutto (1 portion was enough for the 4 of us). We all had fresh grilled trout, and when I say fresh, I really do mean fresh, as in, just caught. And they prepare it just the way it should be, without any mumbo-jumbo, just with garlic and parsley. It was just a little bit over-grilled on one side, but still delicious.A definite recommendation if you find yourself in the area.

Went there for a lunch on our way home from the sea coast. From outside the restaurant does not stand out. The interior is quite big and clean. The staff was a little bit slow, but very kind. The waitress that served us did not know what to recommend, said just that everything is good. When we then wanted to order couple of dishes from the menu that we knew were the local specialties she told us that they do not have them. Finaly we ordered what they did have and were very pleased with what we got. The portions are quite big, the food is fresh and very tasty. Beef steak was tender (aging) and perfectly cooked (medium), fried squid was soft inside and crunchy outside, pork skewers and veal cutelets were juicy, cevapcici full of taste and not dried out. A must for every beer lover that visits the place is the local Velebit beer.
