The Wordsworth Hotel and Spa in Grasmere is a luxurious and historic Lakes District Hotel that has hosted royalty, American presidents and world famous artists and poets. With its spectacular views out across the village of Grasmere and its access to the
I came to this hotel in 1987 for a couple nights .bI was driving a Israeli nuclear scientist around Europe at the he time . I believe it's called the Wadsworth inn . And it had this restaurant attached to the hotel . It didn't have anything outstanding about it . except it was in a little area of England called Grasmere .I walked around this little Hamlet one night investigating the little shops and bed & breakfast places with fireplaces and unique little antiques shops . In behind these shops were sheep roaming around with all the Odors that accompony animals . The Wadworth inn / hotel had a certain smell to it like or it was molding away from age . Wadsworth himself hung on the wall in the main room over the fireplace in the lobby as you checked in . With this restaurant to the left with french doors with french lace curtains on the windows .I never forgot this place .I had a room in the Attic whose room had a aged wallpaper with a slanted ceilings . I came down stairs in the morning to have a nice old fashioned English breakfast .This restaurant and hotel is very much worth investigating and spending some of your time here . The lake district of England is a going back in time place where the total population is about 800 people without the tourist .It's very much worth your time here .

Dodds was recommended by our accommodation and did not disappoint. We were made very welcome and the staff were attentive and helpful. There is plenty of choice on the menu - I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled goats cheese (I had never imagined what a delight goats cheese can be when paired with caramelised pear) and home made potato gnocchi (which our waiter advised was his favourite and it quickly became mine too!). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his garlic bread and pizza - which was spicy and well flavoured. Unfortunately we were so full that we didn't have space for a pudding - perhaps next time!

We went to Matthews after a full days hiking with friends. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. The room was full with a good atmosphere. The food was not cheap but not expensive either it was good value and the whole table enjoyed what they had very much. We would return and recommend Matthews.

Hearty, wholesome deli cafe during the day. Cosy restaurant in the evenings, serving great local beer and cocktails
We visited this restaurant in late October and really enjoyed the whole experience, we have visited Keswick many times and have never been in here before and wished we had. We didnât book but managed to get a table as it was early, the restaurant is well laid out and cosy with lots of interesting information about how the business came about. We were seated quickly and ordered everything together, the drinks came quickly and the food didnât take too long either. The menu isnât expansive but what they do is top quality and the cocktail menu is good as well. The prices arenât too bad for Keswick and this establishment is a step up from normal eateries in the area. Overall I would recommend the Fellpack to families and couples alike.

Varied veggie menu, good quality and reasonably priced. Can combine with a visit to the delightful little cinema upstairs. Busy throughout the year.

Lewis's is an unpretentious and rather bare space but a table near the window provides a pleasant view out onto the fields towards Helm Crag. Service is good and the cooking is reliable with copious portions. A straightforward menu with many of the familiar dishes that you see around the gastro-pub/bistro circuit. Nice wine list at reasonable prices. A very safe bet for an evening meal.

Loved loved loved the decor in each room (in fact am taking little notes on the decor in each room as inspiration for my next house), we were an hour early and the wait staff was exceptional in making us comfortable and rested with an early dinner drinks. The Restuarant itself is contemporary yet with warm natural wood accents with a view through the glass balcony doors to the garden. We had the tasting menu and it was extraordinary, loved the flavors and beautiful plating for each.

Being let down by the neighbouring hotel (sadly closing down their restaurant before we arrived) we were so happy to secure 3 evening meals in this beautiful hotel. We were treated to a plethora of the most amazing food, the fresh scallops were particularly scrumptious, completely off the scale! Thanks to Nicki, Bex, and especially Charlotte, we were made to feel very welcome and at home, nothing was too much trouble, and they even sang to me & produced a cake on my Birthday..it was wonderful! I can't think of a better place to eat, it's great value for money and the quality of food & service is second to none. To make it perfect, next year I hope we'll be able to stay in the Grasmere Hotel too and enjoy the complete experience! Five*
