And celebrate we did! Drinks, especially the wonderful choices of Belgian beers are terrific. I always enjoy the mussels here at Waterzooi along with the required pomme frites . Any sauce you choose for the mussels is fantastic but I enjoy the Pernod. Service is good, portions are good size. Remember to realize that this restaurant I’d usually noisy but lots of fun.

Casual dining in a intimate setting

The restaurant has an elegant but cozy feel, perfect for couples. I was part of a group of nine. There were very few customers so there was virtually no wait. I had reviewed the menu in advance and had decided on ordering crab cakes. The waitress asked what I wanted in terms of a soup or salad and a side. I declined. I just didn't want all that food. Just the crab cakes. She said I could take the sides home if I liked, they are included. I expected to be able to order my meal how I wanted, but when I saw she wouldn't bulge and was going to make me pay $16.95 for a crab cake platter I didn't want, I opted for the spinach pie appetizer and fries instead. The pie was nicely plated, flaky, okay. A tad short on flavor. The fries was crispy. Four stars for the ambiance, the attentive waitstaff and the food portion sizes. One star less for not accommodating my original order.
