Find out what European restaurants to try in Fortaleza. Beaches are the top draw in this sunny, rapidly developing city, particularly bohemian, party-hearty Iracema, family-friendly Meireles, fishing and boating base camp Mucuripe and low-key Praia do Futuro. Stalls at the Mercado Central or Feirinha Beira Mar brim with local handicrafts, ranging from ceramics to lacework and leather goods. The Dutch-built Fortress of Nossa Senhora da Assunção in the city center, constructed in 1649, marks the spot where Fortaleza originated.

They say it here that "this is the best restaurant in Fortaleza", and they are probably right. The place is beautiful, the decor using local artists is intriguing but very elegant... and the food is really good... and not less, the service is very good too. There are special little corners that you can choose to have a romantic evening, or nice to go with a group of friends, and even for a bigger event, like the one I participated last night for my mother's 95th birthday, with more than 70 people, and it was really lovely. This is why I decided to write this review. Cheers!Dear Ronaldo A,Thank you very much for your kind words and comments about our restaurant. We were really pleased that you enjoyed our deco and specially our food and service. We hope to see you again in your next trip to Fortaleza.Best Regards,Jardim do Alchymist.

A small and cozy Italian restaurant, which is usually forgotten among the hipper places in the area. I highly recommend the lasagna, my absolute favorite in town, as well as the warm apple dessert, served with a (generous) scoop of vanilla ice cream. Also, the service is particularly good. Beware of the air conditioning, though, it can get quite cold.

Excellent food, well prepared and presented, very nice atmosphere, very good service. We happened to visit this place on a night when they had a music festival,so the entertainment heed to make theevening special. All the dishes we had were delicious, especially the baked salmon and risotto. Good wine selection. As the place is popular it can be a bit noisy.

I have been in this restaurant more than 6 time in two occasion(2011 and 2014). The quality of the services and food is outstanding, excellent wine list and services, I never had a complain. I consider this restaurant as one of the best in Fortaleza for any occasion.

The oldest and most traditional restaurant of Portuguese food in Fortaleza. We have dishes of cod and seafood, prepared in the most traditional ways.
This Portuguese restaurant became my favorite one in Fortaleza. We made a booking in advance and got a response about the reservation very quickly. (Many restaurants in Fortaleza don't reply at all to the reservation inquiries). We had very good garlic bread (freshly baked) and home made chorizo as entrees and shrimps as main course. The food was very good, but the best part was the atmosphere and friendly service we got. Even the owners came to say hello to us to the table and made us feel welcome. There are other nice restaurants by the beach, but it was very nice to come to Varjota area for a dinner as it felt like being more close to the real Fortaleza culture. The restaurants on the beach are very touristic, so I would make an effort and walk the 2 kilometres to Varjota. This area has loads of good restaurants in Fortaleza (famous about it) and if planning to visit Varjota I would recommend Marques da Varjota.

Food is delicious, the staff is good, the place is beatiful. Everytime I want to celebrate something I go there. Plenty of options, vegetarian (me!) included. I always choose plates that have a mix of different ingredients that I wouldn't use at home and it never disappointed me. But you can go basic too. They even sell some of the handmade pasta. Can't say a thing. One of my favorites!

I really like Casa Nostra and has grew up coming here! The food is quite good and the service is probably on of the best of Fortaleza! But it had been a while I haven't been there and to my surprise we unfortunately went on Saturday night with the house full! The food and service were good as always but the room NOISE was so loud that it interfered in us hearing each other at the table and made us really uncomfortable and we had get home quicker! It is a shame because this really is a nice restaurant!

Fusão de sabores brasileiros, italianos e franceses, além de drinks e uma ótima carta de vinhos. Ambiente cosmopolita e aconchegante.
The restaurant has a maximum of 10 tables, so arrive early. We went two times to the restaurant and the service was perfect. Ordered two appetizers, with shrimp and all were delicious. The main dishes were also wonderful. The Filet with Fetuttine is sensational. The atmosphere is very pleasant, but lack an acoustic treatment, when all the tables are busy the restaurant is noisy. The prices are fair.

Beautiful restaurant, great food, large portions (most 2 person servings serve 3), and the service is also very good. The playing spot for kids is also very nice, since sometimes it's annoying having kids running around while you're trying to have a meal with your family and friends.I find it funny that some people rate this restaurant comparing it to italian restaurants in Milano... This is located on the northeast of Brazil!! I'm pretty sure you can get better ITALIAN food in ITALY. lol
