Five of us had dinner here, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is in an historic building. Spacing between tables is wide making for good conversation and low noise level. Our group split as to the entrees, with several people ordering the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and others going with the roasted suckling pig. Both were good, but the pig was the favorite with moist meat and crispy skin.We were split again for desserts with some ordering the nougat semi-freddo, and others the dark chocolate brownie. Again, we shared and agreed all were very good and probably the best part of the dinner. The house wines were good and a great value. At the end of the night we agreed that it was a good dinner, but not the five star experience the reviews had us hoping for.

We spent an awesome night here. Great food quality...specially the ham, something very special. Everithing was so tasteful and delicious...seriously it is difficult to find something like this in a restaurant with medium-high price...We just had some problems with the service..so that's why I'm not rating it 5. But compared to the quality of food, it is not so relevant. Price, is honest, not so expensive but not so cheap either.Overall more than positive. I'll come back

How absolutely extraordinary. A largely unreconstructed but beautiful palazzo with two surprising features: a massive pale blue swimming pool and possibly the best chef in Umbria. This is serious slow food, so swim first. We were warned and so set aside three hours. It turned out to be four but no one was counting. It was about 90 degrees outside, so we arrived for a pre-lunch swim at noon. Acqua minerale, a bit of a splash about, a lie in the sun, a chapter of the book and then it was 1PM and time for lunch. It was far too hot to eat outside so we opted for the ristorante which was cool (although only in the temperature sense). The room had the familiar feel of one those places we got taken to as children to celebrate the birthday of someone very elderly. But it was nevertheless charming, although as soon as the wine and food started arriving any discussion of the merits or otherwise of the interior design were instantly suppressed. No menu, no wine list - just the food that Luisa (the chef) decided to make that day and the wine she thinks will go best with it. And there were no complaints from us on either front. There was prosecco to start with and an exceptional dish of scrambled eggs, baby vegetables and tartufo. Then melon with excellent prosciutto, red mullet with a green vegetable "soup", gnocci alla genovese with filetto di chianina, pork with fennel and then a wonderfully light cupcake with marscapone. Throughout this feast we were plied with grechetto (the delicious local bianco) and sagrantino (the even better local rosso). By the time we'd had coffee it was nearly 4 pm. But the pace had been perfect and the service faultless. After the ridiculously small bill was paid, we set aside "mother's" warnings of cramps and sudden drownings and went for another swim and then went home wet, bloated and happy.OK I know you are asking ... "but what did you have for dinner". Well I'm not going to tell you.

Driving through Foligno earlier in the week, I saw this new sign “Mangiafuoco” in front of a building on Via IV Novembre. I liked the looks of the restaurant, and I also liked the name, which means eat fire in English. It turned out to be a quite pleasant dining experience. They had only opened 2 weeks ago, but seemed to be pretty well organized.I really liked the décor, a great blend of design and industrial gone white. We enjoyed a Bacon Bruschetta, Assortied cheeses, and a really nice Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Unfortunately, I only had my iPhone, which doesn’t really capture the feeling of the place. Daniele Costarelli, the host was very nice and attentive. Looking forward to the next visit.

For beer lovers, this must be paradise, with a huge array of beers from all over the world. We stuck to the wine, and to the Parma ham and cheese. Twice I had the cheese board, which features 6 different cheeses each month. This month there were two French, two Italian, one Spanish and one British, accompanied by three jellies/honey. These were expensive cheeses, hence the portions were quite small. Staff were very welcoming; there were free nibbles at the bar, which we didn't sample.

Located in the square behind main street. We took plate of local ham and cheese for starter. It is enough for two. For main course we selected gnocchi al Sagrantinio and tortellini with truffles. Of course local wine and water. For desert cheesecake and tiramisu (don't take it, not good). Price was €60. Now about service - you can wait ages for them, but could appoint traditional Umbria food.Dear clients,Thank you very much for your comment. We always try to do our best, but I hope you understand we always serve our food as fresh as it can be, and that's why when there are many clients, it's reasonable to wait for 20 mins more or less, afterall we are not serving fast food :) . About the tiramisù, we do it in a light way without mascarpone so that clients can enjoy it without worrying too much the heavy fat the traditional one contains, maybe there was some communciation missed that made it a bit unclear. I hope next time you can enjoy another dessert which tastes more closed to your expectation. Once again thank you for your comment and look forward to seeing you again and wish you a beautiful day! Best regards,
