You find this âCafé â Restaurantâ on your way to Dornes about 500 meters before the entrance of the village on the left hand side of the road, a place to park the car is almost in front of it on the right hand side of the street. It has a very simple look from the outside, this because it is a typical âPortugueseâ restaurant, so do not be afraid to enter a do not expect a luxurious restaurant, this is more the place where the locals are going and where you find the good Portuguese kitchen. The restaurant has place for 40 persons to sit down. It works like this, everything they put on the table is counted on your bill in separate like bread and cheese and wine etc. when you do not eat it, and it will be not on your bill at the end.So for the two of us we had: bread - âCesto de pãoâ= 1.20⬠+ 1 âqueijo fresco â fresh cheeseâ = 1.80⬠+ ½ l âred house wineâ = 1.20⬠+ 2 âfresh vegetable soups of the dayâ = 3.00⬠+ 1 âdose Carne de porco alentejana â porc meat at the Alentejo wayâ = 10.00⬠+ 1 âfresh Melon pieceâ = 0.80⬠+ 1 âchocolate Mouseâ = 1.50 ⬠+ 2 coffees = 1.20 ⬠which brings our bill on a total of 20.70 â¬.The food price has a VAT of 13% and the wine a VAT from 23 %.We can say that everything was fresh prepared and tasted very good, when we arrived the restaurant was empty, but after about ½ hour later we were with 16 persons and this at noon on the ned of August. We can recommend this local restaurant to everybody.
Restaurant is cosy and service is efficient and friendly. For the first time in 2 years of living in the region, we have found a restaurant where the food is served hot which is relatively rare in this region. Also for the first time in a while we were able to say we found the food really good. The jazz music playing in the background adds to the pleasant atmosphere.
A familiar restaurant, Portuguese tipical. The speciality is mostly grilled meat but you also have the day specials and fish. The restaurant was crowded when we arrive, so we suggest you to book a table in advance. Very good food and excellent quality price ratio. I recommend you to enjoy a meal here. One small negative point was that there was a lot of noise. The caramel pudin was amazing.

Right at the river bed, this restaurant/bar offers a choice of light dishes: salads, sandwiches, burgers and others. Service could be faster but we were aware they were short of staff. Always very helpful and warming, the staff was great. Recommend it if you're around!

I had found this restaurant by accident as I was looking around the area on line and came across it. It looked very authentic and thought a visit would be essential on our trip. We weren't disappointed we had brilliant service and decided to go for the tourist option (on the menu as that) this included a home made soup (vegetable), suckling pig with local veg and roasted potatoes, a dessert and a drink of choice I picked the wine and ended up with a half bottle (bonus). The portion sizes where huge and it was very tasty, the whole family came away very satisfied and would recommend a visit, we will certainly be back on our next visit in May

We visited this restaurant last October as a coulple with a 2 y.o. They serve traditional, honest, no-fuss Portuguese food, making you feel like you're eating at granny's house. Big portions and tasty food. They have daily menus (can't remember if 6.5⬠or 7.5⬠per person), which included bread, olives, soup, a main and dessert. The restaurant is just outside the town of Ferreira do Zêzere and it's a local favourite, so go early before it gets crowded. It's more or less kid friendly (high chairs available but no baby changing table).

Visited with family. Weekday, during vacation month, Room half empty. Grilled steak and sirloin on the roof tile were quite good, cooked to the requested point. However boar was only so-so and the duck was simply inedible... way beyond over-over-over cooked. Seen as the the best option on the village, but much room for improvement...Waiter was nice and attentive
