Aktuelt is at the harbor on Avernakø right when you come in with the ferry. Here you can get food, beer, wine, rent bikes and get organic ice-cream. Open from: 11:20 to 23:00. The kitchen closes at 20:30.
the burger was nice. but it could have been an accessory. the burger was nice but it could have been an accessory more than chips.
The Best fish buffet in town. Different kind of smoked fish from our old smoke house.
Take away fried fish, very good and with good prices!Tables outside, really fast and you can also buy some fresh fish for dinner ;)Really good for a fast lunch just next to the sea.

We actually stayed in the adjoining Hotel for my partners 40th Birthday, so were always going to dine here. The setting is nice and would think it is even nicer in summer given the grounds. The a la carte menu was good, but if you don't like what is on it, you have choice ! Unfortunately my partner didn't ! They did sort something out, but not after the waiter had took obvious offence to my partners simple vegetarian suggestions. Needless to say, this didn't go down too well and affected our overall enjoyment of the evening.I did, however have four courses and all were good, but nothing overly special.

We had dinner there this week after walking all over town and deciding this restaurant had the most interesting menu. The location and the charm of the restaurant are wonderful. My husband had the Plaice while I had a baked two fish dish with leaks and cream. The food was good by unfortunately for the young lady who was the only person serving both restaurants, the service was the worst I have had in years. We felt bad for her because she was running up and down stairs constantly. It took 30 mins to get our drinks, well over an hour to get our food.

This has now been turned into a very acceptable eating establishment with a pleasant host. My wife and I had 2 dishes from the lunch menu, which was of the old-fashioned, traditional Danish menu. They were both plentiful, and enjoyable. The prices were very competitive and reasonable for Denmark, and together with the beers, we thought it was excellent value.I would have given it 5 stars, if there had been some little more interesting or adventurous items on the menu.Anyway we recommend it for singles, couples, and families!

Il Pelato is a small intimate restaurant located at the heart of Faaborg. The kitchen is a mix of the traditional Sicilian- and the classical Italian kitchen.
The food is delicious. We've ordered lasagne and bruschetta and tomatosalad as sidedish. It was served by a very friendly gentleman, the owner. We sertainly come back this holiday.

Called for lunch on a Monday lunchtime and got a table upstairs with a great view of the harbour. The waiter was efficient and friendly and it was quite busy for a weekday so had to wait for the food, but as it was freshly cooked it was delicious and a real treat.Everything in the Frokosttallerken was perfect, the fish, the meat, the ham and cheese in fact one of the best i have had for a long time. Will definitely go back if i am in the area.

On the recommendation of a Dane from Copenhagen that spends his holidays in Faaborg, we had dinner at the Hotel Faergegaarden, on the edge of the old town facing the harbor. It was an excellent choice, one of our best meals in Denmark. They have a prix fix gourmet menu with 2 - 4 courses (you choose). We went for three. The appetizer was asparagus with shrimp in a Remoularde sauce. Excellent. It was followed by a filet of veal in a wonderful pepper sauce. Superb. We had a very nice red Italian wine to go with it and we finished it off with a generous and interesting cheese plate. The service was friendly, informed and responsive. The room is dignified (without being stuffy), attractive and comfortable. If weâd had any appetite left weâd have gone for a dessert, but, alas, we were stuffed. Overall, it was dining at its best.

We visited Faaborg in early September just at the end of the summer season, so not so many restaurants are open. This restaurant was busy and although the kitchen and waiting staff were under pressure, they were still friendly and efficient. There is a short menu and having seen that most people were ordering burgers, we did the same.My wife gad a breadcrumbed fried fish fillet and I enjoyed the Mexican spicy version. Both were extremely well cooked and ingredients were of a high standard with excellent fries, dill flavoured mayo and crispy bun.Not high end food, but enjoyable and by Danish standard reasonably God value for money. Recommended,
