Don't be out off by exterior of this restaurant . Staff very friendly and welcoming . We were surprised to hear English voices but the town seems to attract English visitors . Food is excellent good choice on daily menu board and not over priced Recommend you pre book

A warm decor, generous plates, an atmosphere that is both friendly and intimate, a service included smiles ... All are good reasons to come and enjoy. And always with an excellent price / quality ratio! With red pepper, red looks good on you!A real tradit
On a Bank Holiday Monday in early June we had no reservation for lunch and turned up at the Poivre Rouge on the off-chance.No problem - great welcome - table found for us and it only got better from there.A delightful waitress - anxious to practice her English intermixed with my poor French - look after us very efficiently. She pointed out the good value option of choosing one of the set-price menus after we had initially chosen from the a la carte. We started with a self-service choice from a excellent salad bar - far superior to any similar offering in the UK - followed by the main course which arrived in good time and was very tasty. All food was excellent quality and the main courses cooked to perfection. The menu was 13.50 euros each, plus 2 x 50 cl carafes of wine plus 2 coffees came to 42 euros - excellent value.

There are few countries in which you can find such delicious food in a tiny town of about 300 souls. Servon is a pretty and nearly immaculate little village in which you are likely to see some foreign license plates. The odds are they have been drawn to this friendly and highly competent restaurant housed in a small auberge.Respect for the terroir is underscored in the beautifully prepared dishes, entrees, main courses, cheeses and desserts served in a cozy dining room that can seat a maximum of 18 people. Reservations are recommended. We were quite lucky to gain a table without a reservartion coming early for Sunday lunch.Local oysters were delicious as our appetizer, followed by magnificent duck confit and saffron flavored creme brulee. The bread and butter were of premium quality. A modest but well chosen wine list compliments a menu which encompasses several local fish dishes, beef and pork as well. Here you have very good food-carefully but not ornately prepared-at very fair prices.I would call this a destination restaurant; one we would be delighted to revisit.

We were a bit worried when we went in as it was midday and only 2 other people were there to eat. No other people came in while we were there . We were going to another Restaurant nearby but it was closed for holidays .The Gentleman who served us was very polite and I ordered fish for my husband and pork for me . When it arrived I noticed the jacket-potato had obviously been cooked previously and covered with a cream with chives . There were also other vegetables which had been diced and also cooked in advance . Everything was cold except the meat which was warm . My husbands fish was warm but not hot although I fail to see why as we didn't have a starter . He said he was very disappointed that such a nice looking place which wasn't cheap could have such poor food . I said to the waiter that it wasn't a nice meal and it was cold . I didn't eat any of the vegetables so for my money all I had was 2 pieces of fatty belly pork. I also told the Lady at reception that I wasn't happy but I paid anyway as I didn't want to cause a fuss as my husband is ill .

There are choices on the menu - a la carte or 2 courses, 3 course, etc. We had a priced meal - appetizer, main, cheese course, and dessert for 29.50 Euros p/p/, The wine list is extensive and there are many half bottlesWe spent 2.5 hours enjoying our meal in a lovely atmosphere

A wonderful modern restaurant with execellent service and friendly staff. We opted for the set menu with accompanying wines. The food is first rate and is extremely good value only â¬52 euros (which includes drinks). Lovely setting and tastefully decorated dining area. The cheese selection which is left with you to peruse is one of the best I have come across. We will be back.

Restaurant traditionnel ne travaillant qu'avec des produits frais et locaux Ambiance et style tamisé idéal pour passer un bon moment
Excellent food and service in a very casual environment. We liked it and the guys who run it. The service was friendly and exceptionally fast. Food was French and homemade. Also, it's open most of the time, which is definitely unusual and challenging around here.

Couldn't get into the bar over the road due to france playing in the Euro semi final, went tot he Marionnette which is a Pizza restaurant, but they did a steak in peppercorn sauce...fntastic. Not "burnt" enough for my North Eastern palette but very tasty and the sauce - superbe!! Great service and not too expensive.

Service au jardin en periode d'ete
We selected this restaurant as a lunch break on our journey across Brittany and Normandy. Booked online the evening before.Easy to find and to park in this quiet village. Friendly welcome from servers and tasteful dining room.We selected a three course menu that offered two choices for each course. We tried them all. Very good food with good bread rolls, amuse bouche of melon soup and sausage roll was tasty.Only niggle was that our mains seemed to have been kept under a grill for long enough to brown the edges of my fish. Was this the chef or the waiting staff? It took the edge off the quality of the dish.Be happy to eat here again.

20mn from Mont-Saint-Michel, the Auberge de la Sélune is a gourmet restaurant which serves a home-made cooking with fresh products. Strongly recommended reservation.
Although the exterior and reception of the hotel in which this restaurant resides resembles the entrance to a municipal swimming pool, the food is nothing short of wonderful. The various menus offer very good value for money and if none of the combos meet your needs, there is also a great a la carte. We were both delighted by the Oeuf de ferme parfait which was so much more than the sum of its parts. My Canette de Loué tasted wonderful to someone who is only an occasional duck eater though I suspected that a slighter rarer presentation of the meat might have given it a less chewy texture. The Saumon dâIsigny-sur-Mer was similarly outstanding. After such beautifully presented dishes, the Tartelette rhubarbe was anomalously prosaic in its appearance but something small and understated to end the meal was actually much appreciated.Service was slick and competent if perhaps a tiny bit inattentive. Nonetheless this was a great restaurant choice in a small town that is ideal for reaching Mont St Michel.Thank you for your comment, which is a real pleasure to read, full of humour and finesse. Indeed we know our entrance has to be renewed (and we do not furnish neither flippers nor snorkel), but if you go through, you will discover the restaurant you have discovered. You described courses of our 32⬠and 49⬠menus, and the type of service we propose. We are pleased that you enjoyed our service and value and hope to welcome you again.
