My wife went here for lunch. The setting is lovely: a restored and embellished country house. The service is friendly and efficient. But the food, in our experience, is mediocre. My wife had ratatouille; I had a Caesar salad with chicken. Both were completely tasteless and my wifeâs food was lukewarm verging on cold. The meal wasnât hugely expensive, around £25 for the two plates plus sparkling water. But it wasnât value for money either. We wonât be going back.

Lots of options to choose from including nice range of fish dishes. Pasta and gnocchi great as was the mixed meat platter. Small out door area to enjoy on a warm day. Nice venue just off the high street.

When we arrived in the evening on the bank holiday Monday the venue was quite empty. It was a nice night so we opted to eat outside in the garden. We were told by staff they would not take orders from us in the outside area for food or drinks so needed to order directly at the bar, we asked if we could be seated in the back of the restaurant next to the open doors over looking the outside space and we were told we couldnât despite this area being empty. Some of our party wanted Pimmâs they were told there was no lemonade. Staff told us we needed to order food by 8 as the kitchen was closing early due to it being bank holiday Monday, however the pastry chef would stay a while longer for desert orders. Food was nice. Service was good but attitude was inflexible despite the restaurant being empty.

Italian Restaurant New Opening Homemade Icecrean,Pasta,Pizza
Excellent service from the moment arrived until the moment we reluctantly departed. Food was delicious, even my rather fussy daughter enjoyed everything. The fish cakes were sublime. The host was charming and entertaining, the chef was concerned that you enjoyed his creations, he really didnât need to worry it was all exceptional. An absolute gem of a restaurant, see you again soon.

Last weekend we were able to take all 12 excellent rooms at the Mistley Thorn for the weekend for family to stay together ahead of our son's wedding in Tendring. (Because it is so popular and to ensure we had the full hotel we booked it last October 2018). The staff at Mistley Thorn could not have been more accommodating with all the arrangements. We were also able to host a welcome meal for 33 friends and family in the private dining area on the Friday evening. The food was super. The breakfasts are renowned delicious and relaxed. The Mistley Thorn is beautifully styled, the the seafood is excellent and the staff are welcoming, fun and professional. The bedrooms are heavenly with divine bedlinen and luxurious mattresses. Particular thanks to Clare, Becky and Paddy.

In the heart of Dedham, The Sun Inn has been a watering hole for villagers and resting post for travellers for centuries. These days, itâs much the same. An ideal spot to revive yourself be it with a pint of craft beer, a meal using fine East Anglian prod
This is one of my favourite pub restaurants and has been for some time. I love the old building and chilled atmosphere, and the lounge with comfy chairs and settees is a favourite.I took a friend yesterday for an evening meal for his birthday. We both had starters. Mine was crispy eggs which was nice enough. His main was fish and mine sirloin steak. The steak was OK but not great and his was the same, but the veg were fresh and nicely cooked. The puddings were a bit limited too. Service as very good. Overall not too bad an experience but not remarkable

We were very happy with everything and the price was very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and service. A couple of improvement opportunities would be to serve the tap water chilled like everybody else and offer the vegetarian menu with the main one(there was only one vegetarian option on the main menu so we were glad we asked as we had not checked beforehand).
