Reviews on European food in Dalkey, Province of Leinster, Ireland. Dalkey (/ˈdɔːkiː/; Irish: Deilginis, meaning "thorn island") is one of the most affluent suburbs of Dublin, and a seaside resort southeast of the city, and the town of Dun Laoghaire, in Ireland. It was founded as a Viking settlement and became an active port during the Middle Ages. According to chronicler John Clyn (c.1286–c.1349), it was one of the ports through which the plague entered Ireland in the mid-14th century. In modern times, Dalkey has become a seaside suburb that attracts some tourist visitors. It has been home to writers and celebrities including Jane Emily Herbert, Maeve Binchy, Hugh Leonard, Bono, Van Morrison and Enya. The village and broader area lie within the jurisdiction of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

My familyâs favorite restaurant. I am constantly craving their food ESPECIALLY the seafood linguine - the best I have ever had. So unique and the staff are all so friendly and seem like their own little family. We find it difficult to book any other restaurant as we know we can always rely on and completely enjoy our experience and our food at Thats Amore !

Visited The Magpie Inn in Dalkey on the recommendation of a friend. We were looking for a casual spot for good food and a few drinks on a Friday evening. The Magpie Inn ticked all the boxes. Delicious food..we had chicken wings, the house burger, fish and chips. Also treated ourselves to some cocktails which were really nice, with our favourite being the New York Sour. Two really nice floor staff topped the evening off with their friendly and efficient service. Would recommend and will certainly be back!

This restaurant is a small little gem, run by a lovely couple. We had a wonderful faultless meal on Wednesday. Mushroom ravioli, scallop ceviche, the best chicken wings followed by perfectly cooked rib eye steak, lobster, beautiful dexter burger and lobster ravioli. Deserts and wine were great too. Itâs a lovely place to visit with wonderful welcome and service!

My daughter in law graduated from University College Dublin & it was decided to celebrate the event at Hartleys after the graduation ceremony. We were a party of 14 & we had cocktails at the bar to start. The bar staff were very knowledgeable on the various drinks & cocktails ordered. They were helpful, courteous & friendly. Following a few bevies we repaired to our table which was beautifully laid out. We had a set menu with choices & after the order was taken the food arrived without undue delay. The service was great, the food was great & the entire night was excellent. Everybody had a very enjoyable night & the graduate thoroughly enjoyed herself, particularly when the staff brought on a celebratory candle lit cake. I would happily recommend Hartleys for any such event or indeed for any dining requirement.

Visiting Dublin Ireland with friends and took a day trip to the coastal town of Dalkey. After exploring the castle and surrounding area, we stopped in for an early dinner at Ouzo's Steak & Seafood restaurant on Castle Street. We were just in time for the Early Dinner Menu with 2 courses for â¬24. My starter order of buffalo wings was a generous portion fried crispy to perfection in a tangy sauce. The grilled hake entree was light and flaky and came with a side of grilled vegetables. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly and the atmosphere warm and inviting. It clearly is a favorite among locals as the dining room quickly filled up during our stay. Treat yourself to a great meal here next time you're in the area.

This charming bistro style seafood restaurant is well worth a visit. The owner, Peter Caviston, as utterly charming and his deli store next door, probably the best I have seen anywhere in Ireland.Caviston's has been there for decades, has a loyal local clientele and caters perfectly for visitors. Fresh, fresh seafood and shellfish. The crab mayonnaise is outstanding.

The Waterfront Bistro accommodates lunch and evening dining. A great dining experience at ordinary prices. Wednesday to Sunday nights it transforms into a sophisticated dining area with excellent dishes and beautiful wines on offer
Tried to get a table as a walk in unsuccessfully a couple of times but booked out finally made a reservation tonight, Iâm not surprised itâs so busy food was superb! The owner Keith is passionate about the quality and it shows we had the early bird 2 courses for only â¬23 fantastic value. Our last meal in Ireland was at this little gem of a restaurant! After eating traditional Irish food for 9 days it was nice to have some Italian food and delicious, authentic Italian food at that. The service was simply perfect, attentive and friendly all while leaving us to enjoy ourselves and our meals. Thanks Ragazzi for a wonderful dining experience.
