Verdo Turkish restaurant - Voted best Turkish Kebab restaurant in Edinburgh 2018 - BBQ dishes inspired by the traditional food of Turkey.
Visited here for a friend's birthday. Great food and service, the waiters were attentive and accommodating. My only slight issue was the price - considering the establishment is a little out of the city centre, it did seem a bit overpriced. However, I'd still visit again, but only for a special occasion.

Isola is specialize in regional Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine.
We randomly chose this restaurant after walking by it from our B&B into town and what a delightful experience! Service was excellent, prices were reasonable and our meals were excellent. Nice atmosphere inside as well. I especially enjoyed the pear and ricotta ravioli. Highly recommended.

A new independent restaurant opened in Edinburghs southside. Sonder is an open plan dining / kitchen experience, serving modern European dishes.
Booked this having looked at tripadvisor for recommendations and were not disappointed but mostly intruigued. The waiter gave us a low down of how to order and how much and we had really small portions of very tasty highly complex foods often with pourings of concentrated jus poured by the waiter. Not a place to fo if youâre hungry nor fussy but interesting and a new concept for us. Quite expensive but then probably heavy on man hours to produce.

We were expecting a good meal as our friends had been before but this was really special. From the exquisite amuse bouche, through beautifully fresh fish, tasty local meats and vegetables all blending together in such tasty and sometimes unusual combinations. The drinks were lovely too, particularly the wine recommended by the very knowledgeable staff. And the staff should get a mention, well informed, discreet with personality, a great mix.

Pleased to be sharing a more favourable review of here. My previous 2 visits have been disappointing due to extremely poor service however...on this latest visit, the staff redeemed themselves. The receptionist greeted us warmly on arrival and escorted us to the Bistro then a young waitress said we may have to wait around 10 mins before our order could be taken as she didnt know where the waitress staff were?!?! Eh? Anyway, a charming young lady soon appeared, cleaned our table, gave us menus and promptly returned with water for us. We gave her our order and didn't have to wait too long at all! (don't know what the younger lassie was talking about earlier, I recognised her from a previous visit where she made a mistake- she seems highly nervous) I had a bbq pulled pork toastie with trimmings which was nice and my partner had filo parcels filled with haggis which were amazing- I'm getting them next time ! When paying our bill, we asked if we could order coffee and have it upstairs in either the library or music room area, so we settled ourselves in a lovely spacious room overlooking the driveway and enjoyed our coffee which was served to us within a few minutes. Finishing our visit with a walk in the garden, I felt as if I had really enjoyed our visit here and hope to visit again.

Delicious food, lovely welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Ben and the team for helping me to eat and finally enjoy mushrooms! This restaurant is a must for anyone making a trip to Edinburgh. Dear Meggles1Happy you took a shot in the dark in trusting us to help you like mushrooms, that's great news! If we can do this that's enough for making our day. Ben is indeed a brilliant team player and has lots of charm. We hope to see you again soon for lunch or dinner.

Called in with my daughter for lunch and we had a great time. Food was fantastic and staff were great and chatted as they worked. Both staff serving weren't kids and they would have put the kids to shame, they were busy but we're lovely with little diners and they just worked together beautifully. The food was great and freshly cooked. We both had pasta which was divine and hot and bubbly which is my perfect meal. Definitely worth a visit. We loved it. X

We were just passing through Bonnyrigg and stopped off for drinks. Coffee was really nice, one of the best Iâve had in in a while. Really relaxed and friendly atmosphere with great service.Whilst we sat we saw some of the food being delivered to other tables and it looked lovely. The burgers looked amazing, just wish weâd had more time to try them. We will be back to eat as soon as possible.
