This family business offers you a fresh meat or fish dish of the day, for only â¬5 during lunch time. Soup, one drink, wine and coffee included. Next to that, you can order great beef, steak, porc, veal stewed, traditional saussage, turkey or chicken with patatoes, rice and salad on the side.The owner speaks english, german and some french too. The whole staff is very friendly and kind. Don't expect any modern, trendy dish here, but experience the simple, good, honest values of the portugese kitchen! Blend in with the rugular customers, all by yourself, as a couple or with a larger group.Very easy access, parking in front of restaurant, on the other side of the road you'll have great panorama on the Bestança Valley and the montemuro mountains.

Have to say that is hard to eat better meat than the home grown pig that i had in this restaurant. Was out of the regular menu, and was just perfect. All was quite good, with friendly service and not expensive. Just leave a suggestion: please stop selling water in plastic bottles.

We visited the Taberna twice during a week's stay in Cinfaes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.In May the weather wasn't good enough to be sitting outside in the evenings, so we ate indoors, not a huge space but cosy and welcoming. The staff are young and friendly, understanding of attempts to speak Portuguese and with a good command of English themselves.The menu is simple, good local Portuguese fare and cooked fresh to order in the small kitchen, which can be seen from the bar.This place has a really good selection of wines and beers and, special for us, a gin menu with lots of flavours and different tonics to enhance the gins. My other half also tried a good rum with a ginger ale mixer. My berries and cinnamon gin was delicious.We ate well, atmosphere was good and the bill a pleasant surprise - what is not to like. Oh and for any chocolate lovers out there, you have to try the Oreo mousse, served in a mini jam jar with a mini oreo on top.

Best familiar restaurant for traditional Italian and Portuguese food in Cinfães, in the beautiful and unique region of Douro. Cosy, quiet, spacious and clean place. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent cooks, fresh and varied ingredients and homemade food and desserts. The menu includes a great variety of dishes, ranging from fish, meat, pasta, pizzas, noodles to fresh salads and vegetables. There's also the menu for the day, which includes bread and starters, soup, main dish, drink and coffee. Delicious dessert buffet only for 1⬠each person, including fruit! Children can choose from the kid's menu list.

Se for a Cinfães não pode deixar de ir à Tasquinha do Amado, muitos parabéns ao casal, proprietário do restaurante, não esqueceremos a simpatia com que nos receberam.O nosso grupo encheu o restaurante mas mesmo assim o atendimento foi óptimo, rápido e muito simpático, a tábua de entradas estava deliciosa e a carne arouquesa é de grande qualidade.Muitos parabéns, recomendo e espero voltar (até porque fiquei de voltar para ir comprar mel).

Just had lunch here. We sat upstairs on the balcony. The combination of good Portuguese food and an amazing view of the river makes this lunch 'as good as it gets' Lovely staff made us feel really welcome. We will be back!!

We wanted to visit a restaurant next door, but it was fully booked so we ended up here in O Rabelo. The waiter was very nice and talkative guy, in fact he was the biggest plus on the whole dining experience. Food was just average. Steak was big and quite good. I've had better, I've had worse. The interior is not very nice and it lacks any atmosphere. Overall - if you just want to get a good meal at very good price - go for it. If you're looking for something nice and bit special, keep looking.
