Recommended by our host and we had a superb meal. One of our party is. Vegetarian andthe main course platter presented to her brought an enormous smile to her face. Everything ordered was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Excellent French cooking without fuss. The chef patron was absolutely charming and made us feel very welcome.

This is only the second time we have eaten here...and again we have promised ourselves that we will eat here more often! The food was outstanding; fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We chose the 26⬠menu, had a aperitif and a carafé of wine for two of us for under 70â¬. The menu here changes regularly and it is great to be able to see it on-line. This meant we could really study it at our leisure, at home, and not be hurried into choosing. We will be returning.....

We happened upon this place after wandering around Lisieux and not finding anywhere particularly enticing. Never having tried galetts before we thought we'd give it a go - and boy are we glad we did!The owner was very welcoming and friendly and explained the different dishes (and the fact that he's worked in hospitality in England for some years). The place was packed with locals - always a pretty good sign. The food was came quickly, was beautifuly presented, plentiful, absolutely delicious and very well priced at around 10-12 Euros, with plenty of choices to choose form including daily specials and a strong focus on using organic ingredients. The best - and cheapest - meal we had in 5 days in Normandy, and I can't say fairer than that!

I selected Le Patate Gourmande based on other tripadvisor reviews it did not disappoint! It was the perfect place for dinner for 10 rather tired people...we had travel (flying and driving) from various parts of the world ahead of a family wedding the next day. We booked in advance to make sure the could accommodate 10 of us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and were very quick at bringing out our orders. The menu is so vast that it was tough to pick one dish to eat....but provides plenty of good excuses to go back again...which a couple of the family did for lunch the next day! The pizzas are massive, the baked potatoes are amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection and the fondu was fantastic! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick dinner/lunch with great service and extremely good value for money!

My wife and I have eaten here before, and are never disappointed. The hostess and waiting staff and wonderfully warm and friendly, yet professional. As an added advantage, the hostess speaks very good English, which helps people like us, whose French is a just a tad better than a school boy's. The menu choice is very good, we went for the penultimate fix prix, at â¬47 ph, which was a four course meal with amuse-bouche and canapés with the aperitif. The entree of langoustine was delightful, I would never have thought that raspberries would be such a perfect compliment to shellfish but it was. My wife really enjoyed her bream, which again was beautifully cooked. Our main was a canard, slow cooked with cherries and again delightful. I opted for cheese which was fine but ordinary for Normandy (so very good in fact), and my wife had a pear and chocolate dessert with warm vanilla custard which she said was heavenly.Great wine list, not silly prices, though you could 'go large' and have a bottle of 1985 Chateau Margaux if the budget allowed. For me, this is a wonderful place to dine, my only negative, and it will be a very personal matter for each guest, is the location and decor. The restaurant is part of a small hotel, which is on a roundabout with very non-descript buildings surrounding it which present themselves as your view from the table. Not an issue at all for dinner when it's dark, but not too jolly when it's light. Also the restaurant setting is a little like the reception of a Marriott hotel. It is very clean, smart and bright, lovely tables and presentation, for me a little stark, but my wife loves the modern feel. Overall great dining, wonderful hostess, mid to high cost, but a real find if you are in the Brionne area.

This was our third visit to Le Romantica and this time we were accompanied by friends. We are always reluctant to recommend places to eat as everyone has such different tastes, but we felt sure this would please everyone. The thoughts of our friends; - the best starter I have ever had" - the escargot. "The best meal since we have been living in France (10 years+)"....guinea fowl, trio of chocolate dessert. "The most delicious taste ever"....braised beef cheek. We will all be visiting again and recommending it to others! Food Fantstic........need I say more?

Enjoyed a stunning meal at La Caleche on our final night in France before heading to Calais.Would thoroughly recommend the 35Euros set menu which was superb! Great ambience, excellent food and extremely pleasant hosts who enjoyed giving descriptions to the various dishes we had chosen. We shall return!!!

We visited this restaurant again, having visied it over the years on a Saturday night and very surprised to find it had changed decor and also ownership, so we didn't know what to expect. Previously the restaurant was pleasantly decorated in green and quite light, now completely redecorated slightly darker colours with a red carpet, also making a pleasant atmosphere. The menu is a bit confusing and only basically has 2 main course options on the medium priced menu, fishermans choice and butchers choice, which you have to ask, as it's not indicated anywhere. we chose the Dorade which came out on a pureed bed and my brother had a steak again on a pureed bed. My Dorade wsas not a fillet and has small bones all around it, I have to say verging on the noveau cuisine that was a fashion many years ago, not really flling. The deserts were very poor and certaily did not match their description, we ordered Tiramasu which appeared in a tall fluted glass with a mass of areiated cream half way up the glass and a very sweet melange at the bottom, very unrecognisable. My wife had another desert which was supposed to taste of chestnut but again basically far too sweet and didn't taste of chestnut. To sum up although the first 2 courses were OK, they were not as good as the previous chef, and because of this we wouldn't revisit.

I was somewhat surprized not to see any reviews in English for this slightly out of the way restaurant.Every French review was shining and rightly so. We had a wonderful meal, everything was delicious & the staff were very welcoming. Looking forward to our next trip to Normandy & going back.

What an incredible place...In a beautiful setting: lushy parc full of flowers, sitting next to the charming old mill, we had a dinner to remember... From the delightful appetizers (incredible petits-fours) and the reinvented guinea fowl to the desserts ( I recommend the Pain perdu, glace pistache, amandes grillées) it was an explosion of flavors...Service was perfect! The Chef won' t wait long before getting his Michelin Stars....Don' t miss Le Moulin Fouret...
