Carrigaline (Irish: Carraig Uí Leighin, meaning "rock of Ó Leighin") is a commuter town and civil parish in County Cork, Ireland. It is about 14 km south of Cork city which can be reached by car in 25 minutes (along the R611, which passes through the town, and then the N28 Ringaskiddy–Cork road). Carrigaline has grown rapidly in recent years, from a village of a few hundred people into a thriving town, although many locals still refer to it as "the village". The town is one of the key gateways to West Cork, especially for those who arrive by ferry from France.

Over the years Bull McCabe's on the Airport Road, Cork has built an enviable reputation for the quality of its good, wholesome food served in a warm traditional atmosphere. We count ourselves particularly lucky to have some of the finest foods on our door
I found this pub/restaurant totally by accident. I had been travelling, with my two dogs, in a camper van along Cork's lovely coastline when I ran out of gas - including the spare - on a Saturday evening! A response to a frantic call for help directed me to Cork Gas, which is on Forge Hill Road, near Cork Airport, so I made my way there on Sunday so that I wouldn't be searching for it during rush hour on Monday morning. When I spotted the Bull McCabe's across the junction on the Cork airport road I decided to go there for dinner as I couldn't cook in the camper without gas. I also asked if it was possible that I could park up in their car park for the night so that I could get my gas first thing Monday. Let me be clear - this pub/restaurant does not allow camper vans to park there, as I discovered the following morning. But, because I was a woman driving solo, with two dogs, they allowed me to stay the night, gratis and graciously. I'm vegetarian and asked if I could have a veggie pizza and take it out to the van to eat. I got the best pizza I think I have ever eaten in my life - and possibly the biggest too! It was piled high with all sorts of colourful and delicious toppings, and, at just 11 euro, was so big that I couldn't eat breakfast or lunch the following day. And it was piping hot... Earlier, clients as well as staff had responded to my query as to where I could take the dogs for a good run with advice and directions to Blackrock Castle. It was good advice. The following morning, one of the extremely kind staff brought me out the black coffee (all I could manage after the pizza) so that I could drink it outside with my dogs - on leads, of course - beside me. They say food prepared with love and kindness tastes better. I suspect that the cooking skill that went into preparing that pizza would have tasted delicious no matter what - but the kindness I received there certainly added a very special flavour to it all. Again, I repeat, this pub does not allow camper vans to stay over: they were simply responding with kindness to a bit of an emergency. But, if you're driving a car, and you want delicious food, served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, I couldn't recommend this pub more highly. Thanks, Bull McCabes - you do Cork proud!

After trying a number of speciality steak houses across this fine country we actually found a really good one. We had the rib eye and it was perfectly cooked and the sides matched really well. Well worth a visit. If you are in Cobh and looking for a great steak this is the place to come.

Authentic Italian Cafe' Bistro in the beautiful village of Monkstown, Co. Cork.
Wonderful setting , superb coffee & a great selection of cakes , pastries , pizza etc. The staff were very friendly , the interior clean & tidy . A fab spot to visit .
Having read other tripadvisor reviews we decided to head to this restaurant looking forward to the evening. We left disappointed. First of all, the table we had was so low down; it was not a proper dining table, just one of the bar tables from across the corridor (where the bar is located). It was so low, I was just able to make a fist on top of my knee before it hit the underside of the table. Cons- Our backs were broken before we even started eating our food - I was asking a question about the lobster but before I could get a word out, the restaurant manager started telling us that it was very good value for money, when all I wanted to ask was if the lobster was going to be dressed and presented without us having to crack open the claws- the menu options were limited (i.e 5 mains to choose from)- the price of the mains was a bit steep, (e.g. â¬28 for monkfish), while it was tasty, another minute in the oven wouldn't have gone astray as mine was still a little grey in the centre i.e. a bit too rare for my liking- One thing from a customer's viewpoint is that just because someone may not like the taste of one type of fish, does not necessarily mean that they haven't tried it before or know about fish in general, I feel this was lost on the restaurant manager-Watch out coeliacs, there are no gluten free breads/crackers so bring your Nairn's oatcakes with you if you plan to eat parfait or soup for starters or cheese and crackers for dessert. There's nothing worse than watching others munch into a bread basket when you're starving with the hunger and have nothing but your nails to chew on- Our mains came out at different times and one side order followed so late that we had to stop eating our mains to make sure we had something left to eat them with-It could be so good but the ambience completely let it down especially as our table was located next to the kitchen so there were staff constantly in and out of the kitchen, slamming the fridge door, moving tables beside us or constantly cleaning glassware on said table. There was just no let up all night long.- Let's face it, for the prices we were paying (and I don't care how fresh the fish was) I would have at least expected a table cloth and napkins (not paper napkins).Pros-Credit where credit is due, the saffron rice with the monkfish was sublime and the lobster was superb. I would suggest to the chef to put that rice on as a vegetarian option with the delicious asparagus because it was THAT good.- Also the chips were cut fresh and deep fried just like at home, the best I've tasted in a while.

The Workshop is a local family business run by brothers Aiden and David. Our menu is very simple, for breakfast we serve, Organic Porridge with fruit compote, French Toast and Bacon and Scrambled eggs and Bacon. Our Lunch menu consists of gourmet sandwich
My, son and is wife were home for a visit from Peru recently so on the way back from Kinsale we said we would drop into the Workshop for somethingto eat,but it was 4-45 and we did not realise they closed at 5 so all foofd was finished which was a pity so we decided to have coffee and cakes instead.the food menu looked great so it was a pity that we were late. This is a most pevculiar place with all the bric and brack being served with old silver teapots little teapots for peppermint tea etc.The cakes were superb all homemade id say they were so good that my son called again next day to buy some for a takeaway as we were to late again for food. The staff were so friendlywhich was a plus and service was excellenti certainly will be back to try their menu. This is a little gem in the wild Use your gps as its hard to explain the situation but its on the back road from Togher to the halfway its worth a visit

Tried The Bistro for the first time with 3 friends. Was suprised how spacious it was and found it very comfortable and warm (storm Desmond was trashing the streets outside).Found the menu varied enough, and between us we had 2 starters, 4 main courses and 2 desserts. Food was very tasty and importantly to me, fresh. I really enjoyed my main course as the veg in particular was perfectly cooked and there was a good selection. The portions were very generous and even I was unable to finish it (I have a large appetite) although I would prefer if they reduced the main course prices and gave smaller portions, as I would then be tempted to go more often.
Situated right on the Main Street in Carrigaline , this is a brand new coffee shop . The decor is fab , the staff great & most importantly the coffee is excellent , lovely range of tempting pastries too .

We were a party of four -my husband and I and my sister and husband visiting from Germany. When we visited the ladies toilets we were disgusted. There was toilet paper all over the floor. The taps were running. The toilets were blocked with toilet paper and the rest. Both toilets didn't flush. One of the toilet seats were on the floor. We had to use them unfortunately but we were disgusted, if you're paying money for drink/food then the facilities should be up to standard.

As a return visitor my fondness for the Bodega is largely fuelled by nostalgia, for when it first opened in the 1990s it was well ahead of its time in combining sophistication and comfort with a large open plan layout in a beautiful refurbished building - a formula which has since been applied in numerous other locations. The Bodega has not lost its appeal, and upstairs provides a tasteful separate space for private functions.
