I travel to Nienburg frequently for business. Itâs a very quiet little town, at least it has been every time I have visited. The other night I stopped in for a late dinner and was pleased with the service. The meal was fine, the wait staff was very nice. Itâs the type of place where you can enjoy a meal and a good conversation without having to raise you voice because of background noise. They even had a nice selection of schnapps to round off the meal.

Everyone enjoyed their food, but the service was very slow and not very accomodating
On a beautiful weekend, I took a hike up to the Klippentum. I took the train to Rinteln and its a short walk through a residential area to the woods where the trail is marked with white paint slashes on trees. There aren't any signs for the trailhead until you are halfway up the mountain. It was a good hike and there are two main trails to take. One is a little steeper and shorter as opposed to the other longer and more gradual. A 360 degree view on top is rewarding from the stone tower at the summit. Most rewarding is the little refreshment area in the tower building, where beer, wine, soft drinks and limited cakes are available. If you have a nice weather day, Klippentum is a worthwhile hike.

We've spent one night in Rinteln as a stopover.Based on previous reviews I went to this place and wasn't disappointed. The food is good with nice portions. The service is friendly and efficient. There is much to choose from and there is a nice view from the terrace.Very much recommend.

Recommended by our hotel when we asked for local food, really welcoming, found us a table without a prior booking and the food was top quality and the staff very helpful.
Tried getting breakfast there, waitress ignored us and when we sat down at a table, she asked us in a very unfriendly tone to move to a different table as our table was for someone else (no reservation sign or so on the table). We left without ordering food.

The restaurant is outside the town up in the hill just below the forest. There are ample of opporunities for a nice walk around. The terrace can be very nice on a warm evening while the inside is a bit cold in the decor and except for some brewing utensil not very cosy. They do offer very good German food with a nice seasonal menu prepared mostly fresh and the kitchen delevers a reliable service even if nothing too great. Waht they are really good in is beer (they brew themselves) and spirits (also done locally) so it is a very nice place for some hearty food and some beers with friends and colleagues and enjoy the quiet area. The staff is a hit and miss, can be very friendly but can also be very professional.

we went here after a long & stressful days travel from Manchester to Buckeburg, via Hanover, the only realistic method available to us. This place was great, we were served a few minutes after we arrived, we could chat or watch The Voice, Germany, a perfect mix for a mixed German/English group. The beer 'Alt' was excellent (is there any other type of German Beer?). The nosh was good and hearty & the service was speedy, friendly and efficient, rock on Minchen!
