We called into Elysian the day after it opened for a quick drink. The owner was really friendy and nothing was too much trouble. The drinks were served very well, nice hot coffee served with hot milk on the side. We took a look at the menu and that looked great with some interesting items. We would highly recommend a visit to this new cafe.

I came here to meet with some family for lunch and was immediately greeted by the friendly owner. The decor is minimal and stylish and I was very impressed by how clean the whole restaurant was and most importantly that I could see a wonderful charcoal grill behind the counter (not something you see in many restaurants!) We ordered some chicken, ribs and chips plus some olives, bread, chorizo and sausages to start. All of the food was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, hot and everything had the wonderful taste that can only come from a real charcoal grill! I highly recommend this place to anyone. if you want some great food and friendly service then this is definitely the place to try! I have also picked up some food to take away recently which is fantastic option for when you can't be bothered to cook but don't want the more traditional takeaway choices.

This recently refurbished restaurant/pub has been done in a really tastefully.It has a homely relaxing vibe and the the staff are warm and friendly. We haven't been here before but live in the area and were made most welcome which made my birthday celebration very special.The food was of exceptional quality and super tasty. I was quite moved when the entire staff bought me a sparkler in my sweet for my birthday and sang happy birthday to me what great bunch of guys and girls they are.

12 of us went there for a birthday celebration and the food was lovely. All of our food came out hot and at the same time, although the desserts were rather staggered.There is an extensive menu which caters for all dietary requirements, the restaurant also has a lovely atmosphere. Yes it is a bit dated but with excellent food, a chilled atmosphere and cleanliness I really think a bit of peeling paint is anything to worry about.If you want a quick meal this isn't the place for you as service was very slow, personally this is a plus point for me as it really was lovely to have a relaxing meal without waiting staff rushing you to pay the bill and leave as soon as you put your fork down.I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone and will be a regular customer from now on.

This strikes me as a place that started with serious ambition and has had to compromise hard.Thereâs no doubt that the decor and condiments befit the environment that is desired by the owners, however, I imagine the lack of customers (willing to pay the reasonable prices for the good food on offer here) has caused sacrifices. The booking: my mother rang and left a message to book a table. This was on Saturday. She received no response regarding her request. The restaurant is not open until Tuesday. No one ever called her back. I booked online on Monday (day before dining) and I received a message saying Iâd hear back. I did not. We very nearly booked elsewhere until I called the restaurant again on Tuesday lunchtime (nobody answered the phone in the morning). At this phone call I learned that all was good for our online booking. My motherâs telephone request was clearly written off and never responded to. The food: I thought the salmon cervice was stunning. A great dish! Sadly, the aforementioned sacrifice made in this establishment is that the Turbot was clearly frozen and it was so obvious. Itâs shape, texture and moisture. Iâm afraid you shouldnât get away with this (and prices). Do it properly or not at all. The Ox heart tartare is an immature and imbalanced dish and lacks depth and harmony of flavour. Itâs clumsy with too little flavour from the meat (? Frozen) and too much horseradish ice cream (again frozen). On balance, I wonât return.

Visited with friends recently, the restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday evening only 2 other tables were full? But Bridgwater fair was also on, so may have had an effect?Anyway, the service was friendly & polite.We all had different dishes which were great, so lovely meal, good ambiance, nice night
