A great spot - and if it's warm enough to sit outside do so - the interior is rather drab. Food is standard Western / American - burgers, pasta, pizzas etc - all ok but nothing special. Service is also a little slow. Would probably recommend other places above this one.

Went here twice, once we did not order anything due to problem above.Next time we did, brought cash. Do not want to mark this establishment as we later discovered not many shops accept pin payment or creditcard. The major Supermarket (Lidl) does. Did not eat here had a snack and drinks which was OK, sat outside but being March was still a bit cold, they provide blankets if you want to sit outside despite the cold which is nice. Service was friendly and quick. Nice view over the promenade and beach. If you are coming from England and looking to go to one of the Dutch Wadden eilands or Borkum, then go here, it's cheaper!!. But top tip, bring cash (there are 2 banks in the town center which is not too far from the beach)

Il Faro is a nice restaurant with good Italian food near the light tower in a central location at the Watt Island Borkum. Managed by Italians from Puglia. A real Italian restaurant so not only pizza and further on Schnitzels. Great choice of pasta and pasta's from the oven (like cannelloni). But also very attractive pizza for one person (30 cm), two person (40cm) or famila (50 cm). Reasonable prices. Not cheap. The lasagne with salmon and spinach was EUR 12,-. The two persons pizza also EUR 12. Good ingredients in the food, the salad etc and Pellegrino as the delicious mineral water. The service was very good. Plenty of personal with a real focus on you as a client. Nice spot for a lunch in Borkum.

Looking for a place for dinner, we hopped in this modern, stylish restaurant. Nice surprise! Very good meals, nice and helpful personnel, reasonable price. Cuisine is quite in the German style, fish is boiled or cooked with many flavors, do not expect the taste of mediterranean kitchen. All in all good "Essen". We will come back again!

We usually get here on our way to/from Ostland after walking/hiking or riding a bike/horse. It is a good stop to recharge your batteries by sitting outside and enjoying some Sanddorn cake or other sweets the Café offers.Family-friendly, room for many bikes to park (not horses, mind; they should be brought back to stable before going to the Café).Situated only a short walk from the beach, you can even come here along the waterline (best at low tide) from Ostland or the Main beach near the town centre.Prices are reasonable and food quality was good whenever we were here. The staff is usually friendly, too; during peak times (weekend + holidays) a little patience is required. All in all, have a look yourself and enjoy!

We went to the Alt Borkum to try their all you can eat lunch buffet. The staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic. I was impressed that they chose to keep the buffet smaller, and offer all fresh food. The day were were there they had spare ribs, fresh pasta dishes , fresh breaded fish, as well as many hot side dishes , a large salad bar and two fresh hot desserts. The price was extremely reasonable. They also have a large enclosed play room for parents with young children. The restaurant was very clean and beautifully decorated. We would certainly return.

We traveled with small children but were more than welcomed by the host. Our waiter did a great job recommending amounts and items - we ordered everything on the menu! The wine recommendations were right on too. Not the most expensive but a great red wine. A must - the baked feta and Vivens red wine!

Knurrhahn is a small bistro type eat in or take out restaurant. They serve fresh fish, pasta, soup and a variety of other delicious foods. They also have a Kiddie Menu, with smaller portions and non fish options, such a potato pancakes with apple sauce. The staff is very friendly and we never had to wait long for our food. It is cafeteria style, meaning you order and they call you when it is ready. They have several small tables with bar stools. We ate at Knurrhahn 4 times during out vacation and never had a bad meal.
