We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation by our hotel concierge. The interior is decorated in a nautical style with salt water fish tanks, fresh lobster and oyster tanks. This is your first hint that their specialty is fresh fish. We were seated upstairs in the initially quieter part of the restaurant. The place was really busy on a Saturday night and the volume increased with the quests, including several families with very small children. The menu has many options including shellfish, local fish that changes daily and specialties. Our meal began with aperitifs along with a delicious amuse bouche of smoked salmon on a croissant. A variety of breads filled the time during the short wait for our meal. We started with a shared dish of the salt cod ravioli, which was separated on two plates and presented to each of us. Our waiter recommended the special turbot and we LOVED it! It is rare to find this fish in the states and when it is prepared as well as Al Faroâs does, what a treat! Paired with a lovely Sauvignon blanc (another recommendation of our server) the fish was delightful. Not only was meal perfect but the service was amazing - personal and attentive!Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but they all sounded tempting! We are so glad we visited this restaurant in Lugano we only wish we had gone there both nights of our stay!

Restaurant Gallery Arté is the only 1 Michelin Starred Restaurant in Lugano. A theme restaurant inside an art gallery, it offers a magnificent and unique view over the gulf of Lugano as well as a dainty cuisine. Signature dishes of our Executive Chef Fran
First, this restaurant is needlessly pretentious. Second, the two other guests at my table ordered the tasting menu. I did not like all the options on the tasting menu, so I told the waiter, that I would order the same amount of courses and if he could please pair wine as well. He agreed. That is not what happened. While I was the only female at the table, I was given one glass of wine and treated with an air of snotty contempt. The food was just ho hum. It was not creative. It was mathematical in its presentation. Safe but what you can get at a multitude of other restaurants. I will say that the view is wonderful. But for almost $700 for 3 people, save your money. It is totally not worth it. They are very sadly resting on their one michelin star.Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time and effort to write this review. We are sincerely sorry to read that you were disappointed about your experience with us and that we did not meet your expectations on this night and we would like to apologise for that. We are sincerely sorry to read that you felt treated with an air of snotty contempt. Kindly note that it was not the waiters intention to make you feel that way and that they were sincerely sorry to read, in your review, that your experienced some discomfort during your dinner with us.We will discuss your comment about the Mathematical prensentation of the food and the non creativity of it with the Chef and his staff to improve.Sincerely

My husband booked us a table at this charming grotto for a Sunday lunch whilst we were staying in the Induna Olona area. Although we have travelled in the area a number of times, we hadn't experienced a genuine 'grotto' - and what a delightful experience it turned out to be. We were seated at the end of a large, communal dining bench, under a pergola heavy with vines. An olive wood board of exquisitely rustic charcuterie arrived - and rapidly disappeared... as did a bottle of the local red wine, which we drank from small pottery cups, grotto-style. Mains were perfectly grilled cuts of pork and lamb from the barbecue. Grotto del Cavic was packed with families enjoying their Sunday lunches - it was a wonderful atmosphere in a very pretty setting and the food was superb. It also made a welcome change from some of the region's more formal, finer dining restaurants.

Enjoying an evening at the Restaurant of Villa Principe Leopoldo is an experience that should be tried at least once in a lifetime. Sit at tables set with linen, silver and crystal and let yourself be seduced and conquered by the sincere and passionate cu
The restaurant is a special place with view on the Lugano Lake and the Mountains. Staff are attentive with impeccable service. The food is high-quality, well- cooked and displayed. The atmosphere is very pleasant with live-music piano and Sunset; romantic...We do appreciate the recommendations for the wine and personalization for the meat cooking and fruit dessert. We recommend this restaurant as a best one in Lugano.Valet service.Dear Guest Gaihera, we want first of all to thank you heartfully for your review and for dedicating time to write and share it on Tripadvisor.Your words compensate for the efforts of all the staff. Egregi signori, vi scrivo perché volevo pubblicare sulla home page la chiusura del ristorante per ferie dal 04/08 al 25/08. In attesa di una vostra risposta porgo distinti saluti
This small restaurant, with just 1 waitress and delicious food, is definitely worth a stop on your visit to Lugano/Paradiso. We enjoyed a delicious and very reasonably priced meal here. This is a cosy restaurant with the feel of a country inn, there are a few tables in each room, so do call ahead for a reservation. We had the grilled lambchops and there were mouth wateringly delicious!!!!

Located on the shores of Lake Lugano, at the foot of Mount San Giorgio, Grotto Pojana is the ideal place to enjoy true ticinese cuisine. Run by Antonella and Renato Bordogna, it offers a selection of traditional dishes that take you back to forgotten tast
Somewhat out of the way, however worth the effort. Recent lunch was excellent. Bruschetta with tomato and basil and stuffed zucchini flowers were spectacular. Risotto ai funghi was classic and one of the best I have had. Try the Turriga red wine from Sardinia-also excellent. The restaurant overlooks Lake Lugano and has a small number of outside tables. Inside the tables are typical family style. Excellent parking, which is rare in this area. Overall a wonderful experience.

A hidden gem in the great village of Melide, right at the lake, with beautiful sunny terrace on the lake in the summer, and cozy and warm restaurant inside in the winter.Very friendly and caring personnel, the kind Irene, the bubbly Loris, the amazing chef René who is great with pasta, but also fish/seafood dishes and also meats...for food lovers, best combined with some great local wine.Pricing is very fair and on the cheaper side, especially compared to the restaurants you could find in Lugano, especially great price for the quality you get. They've got parking in front of the restaurant, and I would recommend for you to book in advance.Go there, try it and enjoy it, because you will definitely enjoy it and you will go back, like I/we do all the time.

This is the most intimate and romantic restaurant I've been to in a long time. The menu is totally in Italian and the waiters have the most rudimentary command of English. Here though, the food does the talking.Somehow, the chef seems to have been taken by foie gras. An entire page of the menu is dedicated to duckâs liver dishes and it features on quite a few of the main courses. Foie gras is of course utterly sublime and the fillet steak topped with pan fried foie gras was out of this world. My wife and I were totally blown away. If I could, I would dine here every day of the year.good morningmany thanks for your visite in our ristorante.we are very happy that you will enjoyed.best regards Bernard Fournier
