Reviews on European food in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Just at the northern edge of the Ala Too mountain range lies Kyrgyzstan's lively northern capital, Bishkek. With numerous green spaces, parks and gardens alongside Soviet-era buildings and monuments, the city retains its former Soviet Asian flavor. The city is home to many monuments and cultural institutions, including the National Historical Museum and Ala Too Square, where the changing of the guard takes place daily. The Dordoy Bazaar provides ample shopping, especially for Chinese exports.

It's a nice cafe a bit fancy for me but in general I liked it. The prices are quite high but it's one of those type of cafes (Elite Cafes). I had some grilled sheep and it was nice. I'm not sure I will go back again because of the location out of the center and the prices are a bit out of my budget for what you get. Location is on the south side of Bishkek close to the mountains and near AUCA University.

Well located on a street full of life each evening, we enjoyed Ugolekâs outdoor seating and refreshing ambiance. The food was excellent and provided the opportunity to sample local and international dishes. Service was quick and English/Russian speaking making things a snap. There were live musicians nearby playing saxophone which made it even more cozy. Overall, a great dining experience.

Best wine bar in the heart of Bishkek. Authentic food, excellent wines at good price and the fireplace makes a perfect experience.
Good wine selection, and excellent small dishes to go with the wine. Knowledgeable and service minded staff. Their recommendation on wine from Georgia was superb - reasonably priced and with a lot of character. I ended up going back there two more times during my two week stay in Bishkek - each time for the friendly and relaxed atmosphere and good wines.

Very nice space and atmosphere but the food is what itâs surprising. A restaurant like this would be successful even in Milan, imagine my surprise being in Bishkek.I eat one of the menu that I suggest. A fantastic dish with 9 different food inside. Very tasty and my wifeâs steak with truffle was amazing too. The Italian chef Walter made really a great job.Everything for a price that is a bit over the average but absolutely low for what it offer (15⬠each with beers and service). Donât miss it!

What is not typical for Bishkek unfortunately is that majority of restaurants can't keep the same level of food quality and service with time. Now this one is an exception â always delicious pizza whenever you visit it.

Frunze is a palace in the central park area. It is very posh place, where most guest dress like going to opera. The food was very delicious - the horse rib steak was so juisy and tender not like any other horse dish in Kyrgysztan. Souse-vide chicken was like from fine-dining European restaurant. Service was great, I was just shocked that they spoke only Russian, no English.

I visited this restaurant late at night, but despite the fact that it was evening, both pizza and service were on top. I thank the administration of the pizza restaurant "Papa John's"!

Bone marrow. Donât miss the bone marrow appetizer at this cozy downtown steakhouse (outside tables as well). For about $2.50, my husband and I shared four generous bones filled with marrow, which we spread on toasts. In the States, if you could even find this, it would be $20. We followed this tasty treat with a platter of lamb, chicken and beef sausages and chateaubriand accompanied by a lovely little salad and some tomato caprice with really creamy cheese. The local beer was tasty, according to my husband, and there is imported wine by the glass, which I enjoyed. Our bill was about $35 including a 15 percent tip. A true bargain. We ate in a smaller, cozier room, but there are more elegant rooms there too. Our server Julia, who I think might have been the manager, was great with English.

Chebak bar is a new, democratic place that ought to and should be visited every day, because Chebak is for people who enjoy and value their time. Here you can have a tasty and joyful lunch, hold a business meeting, enjoy live music performed by local and
It was hot outside therefore went inside expecting that place is air-conditioned. Well, it was better than outside, but I'd wish more. Food was good, I selected lamb meat sausages which were accompanied by horseradish cream real Russian mustard, such a real that I almost went into tears when tried first piece of sausage :)Regarding beer I have two negatives:1) beer cups were not chilled. That is a bit cheap feeling about this place...2) I ordered 3 different draft light beers and they somehow looked and tasted exactly the same...
