A hard restaurant to review. We were delighted to get a table at short notice. We arrived and were seated under the heavy air conditioner but the waiter was tuned in and immediately turned it off. We just wanted a glass of wine rather than a bottle. There were 2 choices of white - a German Riesling and a Chardonnay. Sadly we were told they were out of Reisling so it was the Chardonnay or red. I am not a Chardonnay fan so went with a Pinot Noir (one of two red choices) and it was lovely but I would have preferred white with my fish dinner. The mains choice was duck, blue eyed cod or vegetables. We ordered blue eyed cod. 5 mins later we were told no cod left but could replaced with spiky dory. Went with that. Bread and butter arrived. Butter was best tasted ever. Main arrived. Quite small but flavours were lovely. Would have loved the option of a vegetable side. Can’t help but wonder how good this restaurant could be with more choice. And if you are only offering 2 white wines by the glass or three mains it is pretty extraordinary to run out of what is on offer.

Mezethes Greek Taverna

Have been twice in the last month and both times have received excellent food and service. The saganaki was heavenly, the dips with bread are very filling. Calamari and the lamb and chicken skewers were cooked to perfection.Staff were friendly and helpful. Answered all questions, provided suggestions, checked our table regularly to see if everything was alright. We were not in a rush but did not find wait times to be an issue.

Templo

Myself and two girlfriends had Sunday lunch here and partook in the $70 Chef’s Menu, where you get a wonderful taste of eight courses. These were shared amongst the three of us and the dishes were robust in flavour, complexity and also, size. We left feeling contently full. The wine menu was extensive with an aperitif offered on arrival. We were seated at the large communal table with two other parties but at no time were we cramped or did it feel too loud. Between the two chefs and the one front of house we were spoilt with a wonderful and timely degustation over two hours. I would highly recommend Templo. Please be mindful though, the restaurant only sits 20 patrons and is incredibly popular, so if you are planning a trip to Hobart and would like to have lunch or dinner here, you should definitely consider booking in advance so as to no miss out. Also, there are single menu items, you do not have to do the Chef’s Menu! A wonderful culinary experience.

Had a Friday lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary, waiters very welcoming, friendly and professional.Decor is modern, relaxing muted tones that do not conflict with the stunning views.Meals where excellent well presented and cooked to a high standard and delicious.Nice touches with a small pre entree treat also chocolate treat after desert. At $69 dollars plus drinks a head for a 3 course meal was great value.

FICO had been talked up in reviews and I think they are resting on these rather than producing the goods. Shared &/or large tables may be trendy but not for all. Set menu was a good idea but short on variety, flavours and bulk. Service was reasonable but a bit detached. Over-rated

If i didn't know any better I was back in Paris walking the streets and enjoying the exquisite baking that only they can do. The display of cakes and pastries is amazing and the cafe was buzzing. Great service, good coffee but the croissants were terrific and so was the Danish. I'm going back for macarons and maybe some croissants to take home. I wish there was this type of cafe in the north west of Tasmania I'd be a very happy person.
