Gotta tell you about my experience here. Stumbled across the place on a trip through the northern Black Forest. A micro brewery with a full blown kitchen German style. The beer tasted great and was brewed as fresh as can be. One can watch the brewery whilst waiting for the food. Everything very German, efficient, stainless and inviting. The food was down-to-earth German Svabian style with Spaetzle being offered too. To my astonishment, the menu was packed with delicacies and they were really affordable. Canadian Buffalo (imported) topped the price range, but that protein must have been shipped here before one can dig in. Great salads too and a big outdoor dining terrace as well.

Freundlicher Empfang und flinker Service Der Stockfisch war noch viel zu salzig und Calamari war frittiert, obwohl nicht so auf der Speisekarte angegeben.Es kann nur besser werden!!!

Dined here one evening with friends. Hotel and restaurant is run by a Serbian family. A limited menu which is entirely in German, but the owner was happy to translate all of the dishes for us and make recommendations. He suggested a mixed plate of Serbian meat, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Great wine and beer. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The owner generously offerred us free Schnapps at the end of the meal. Definately worth a try.

First thigh the menu is in German and English, and the translations make sense! Food as good as it gets in the region with fresh ingredients, very well presented and good flavor. Beer menu is ample and similar what I'm used from California micro breweries.

This hotel seems to feature on Tripadvisor as a restaurant but it actually is quite a large hotel with rooms on several floors. I stayed here for several days on a bed and breakfast basis and took most of my meals in the restaurant. My room was an odd mixture of minimalist modernism and a very ancient wooden wardrobe inscribed with its date of manufacture, 1793. The bathroom was very small but functional (shower only, from which it was easy to flood the floor). There were a couple of irritating features/deficiencies, like: no hairdryer. Curtains very thin, letting in street lighting at night and daylight early in the morning. Free wi-fi was provided but it did not work in the room. I had to sit in the corridor to take advantage of this facility. The restaurant was good, offering reasonably priced Schnitzel, beef, veal and fish dishes, plus the obligatory âMaultaschenâ, a type of stuffed pasta very popular in Swabia. The draught beer advertised outside was not available. There is a âcosyâ bar on the ground floor but it is not recommended to non-smokers as it is licensed for smoking (as many such German establishments still are) - and the regulars make full use of this facility. The breakfast was very disappointing, consisting mainly of thin slices of cheese and German sausage, cereals and fruit. The tea was so weak as to be undrinkable. And on Sunday, when I had to leave early, I was informed rather gruffly that breakfast would not be available before 8 am.

Great traditional German food, luckily we were there in chanterelle season so there were lots of options for this. They have their own whisky distillery attached and samples were tatsted! The standard is really good but the single malt is far to rough.Very expensive to purchase a bottle to take home though

Was one of two recommended restaurants in the small town and we saw why. Very good.
The owner of the hotel we stayed in referred us to this restaurant, and indeed, it was worthwhile: friendly staff, great food and wine, and the veggie-burger made of zucchini was really to die for!!! The frendly waiter was helpfull in offering the wine choises (my husband took red wine, which he never likes, but this wine he said tasted great, and so it was). Some will like the fact that light is scarse, but even our party existed of only both of us, I found it really dark inside. The next day we went back to have a desert (as I was too stuffed for such the evening before) at its outdoor seating, but sadly the restaurant was then closed. As we traveled on the next day I must do so in future. Really recommended this restaurant.

Our regional Restaurant Lamm and the huge panorama terrace offer stunning fews over the black forest and our beautiful little village including the old castle ruin. Enjoy our homemade dishes and swabian speicalities like "Maultaschen", fresh trouts or "Zw
The food was good, just not my favorite genre. Swabisch and Schwartzwald specialties. However, the wait staff and setting made the overall experience a wonderful one. The chef sent a complimentary tasting...wine was excellent...we will return.Dear Trent, thank you for your kind review. Great to hear that you enjoyed your time at our restaurant and that our friendly staff took well care of you. It was our pleasure serving you and we're already looking forward to welcome you again. Outstanding fine dining restaurant. If you're looking for an extraordinary food and wine experience this is the place to be.
Have lived in this general area for years and have found this to be one of the best of the local cuisine restaurants. Outstanding food, friendly service, and teh views from the balcony are pure schwarwald! A great place to kick back after visiting the local burgruins. There is also a much more expensive sister restaurant in the older hotel across the street, which I have not tried, but I would imagine has similar quality.
