As a German I appreciate good German food and this regular haunt of mine when I am in the area certainly hits the spot.I can heartily recommend this restaurant for ambience, for facilities (lovely large outside raised terrace to enjoy the balmy Summer evenings) and for its menu. It is comfortingly German with a good range of dishes Germany is known for as well as little exotic touches to show how Germany is a melting pot of styles due to its many borders with other countries.Besides doing wonderful things with potatoes (Altdeutsche Kartoffelsuppe mit Speck is the most wonderful potato soup ever!) they do what has to be the most succulent Schnitzel ever. I can safely say that this has to be the finest kitchen for Schnitzel- order it and listen. You will hear it being prepared fresh for you to order (tenderising being a noisy process).I can also recommend the seasonal menus (the beauty of many Continental cuisines is the seasonal selections in their menus, Germany being no different) with the chef's Schnitzel mit Spargel (asparagus, white as is "proper", in season mid- April to mid-June) and boiled potatoes. From June to mid-September you can also enjoy another local dish- Pfifferlinge (chanterelles), sauted in butter with potatoes and Schnitzel. The steaks are good eating and the "kiddy menu" seems very good value too. Oven potatoes (baked potatoes to a Brit) with a range of fillings make for a lighter lunch and "beware" the salads- huge portions! Yum! Personal recommendation is the liver Berliner Art. ;)For afters you MUST try the little steamed dumplings with an amazing fruit compote, vanilla sauce and balsamic accent. I cannot recall their name but you can ask for the house speciality. ;)

This place must be a joy to eat in other than a Wednesday, and more especially, a Saturday afternoon, when every man and his dog are trying to have something to eat before they go to see the feeding of the lynx (at 14.30). It is the only place for miles, and is immediately adjacent to the enclosure, so is absolutely heaving. The staff try their best to get around all the tables in and outside, and I’d recommend that you do what we did: get a seat first (sharing is fine), know want to drink as soon as you sit down, whilst the waitress is getting that, look at the board and decide what you want to eat so you order it when she returns with the drinks, then everything goes well to plan.I had a large salad with tuna, and it was enormous! My husband had a mushroom schnitzel and it was also good. The wheat beer and wine hit the spot.We saw some people wait over 45 minutes, as other people have commented. I would only attempt to eat there in good weather, as the inside area is small. Oh, and the lynx are worth the walk up! (Commentary only in German)

We have spent fair few minutes looking for something to eat in bad Salzburg after spending hours on the trail. Eventually chosen Albert corner due to having English menu. :-). Extremely helpfull staff even if not speaking English. Inside the place looking like something taken strict out of witch stories from 18th century. Food was freshly made to order and really tasty. Both soup and main meals. Also German lager with meal was really good. The main shock came when it came to pay as for meal for two with drinks I've paid just over 30 euros. Which isn't exactly expansive :-). Really worth swing the place.

Firenze has an excellent menu selection of pastas and pizzas as well as an extensive wine selection. We ordered fettuccine bolognese al forno and pork medallions and both were excellent meals. Our second time there, we chose their house pizza. Awesome tasting! Wonderful service and atmosphere!

We were on holiday in Bad Harzburg at the end of August and, on turning up at only 6pm, we were lucky to get one of the last tables, as most were already booked. There were plenty of tables outside - so not such a problem for lunches - but it would be advisable to book for an evening meal, if during the tourist season/holidays.The menu was extensive, with lots of choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians. There were plenty of authentic dishes to choose from too - such as moussaka, pastichio, souvlakia, gyros, kalamari, etc.Portion sizes were large and we probably wouldn't bother with a starter if we came again. For main courses I had the moussaka and my husband had one of the meat platters. Both were obviously freshly cooked, tasty and very good. There was a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere and the restaurant was nicely decorated inside. Staff were friendly. We were offered an Ouzo at the end, but declined as it's not something I enjoy. We were pleasantly surprised to be offered an Expresso instead, on the house, which we thought was a lovely gesture. We tried to go back again shortly before returning home, but were disappointed to find that we had left it too late and the restaurant had closed for its holiday. We'd highly recommend the Kreta and encourage you to give it a try.

This attractive restaurant is bright and modern. I dined here on two evenings of my stay at the hotel, and enjoyed everything I ate. Unsurprisingly, it was not cheap. Fleets of staff ensure everything ticks along smoothly, and the maitre d' makes a point of visiting every table - a nice touch, I thought.
