One reason we loved our Lisbon on Wheels Tour Guides Nuno and Victoria is that they took us to local hangouts like this!! They seemed a bit hesitant to expose us to this fantastic local sandwich shop, but we were hungry and ready for an authentic Portuguese taste sensation. Oh my...what an experience! So, this is fast food, Portuguese style. We felt so lucky to be shown the ropes of Bifanas and the homemade soups at this little diner. We stopped on our way back from two Setubal wineries and were ready for a little something more substantial than water crackers:) The Bifanas were actually very tasty. Accompaniments included yellow mustard or Piri-Piri, a spicy pepper sauce. Yum! We also tried a soup made with what appeared to be turnips and kale which was the perfect starter. The sandwich, which was served on crusty bread, featured tender, flavorful, pounded pork cutlets. The pork had most likely been marinated and then slowly cooked until tender. It was herby, garlicky, savory and spicy with the addition of the "Extra Forte" Piri-Piri...unlike any sandwich I've had or may ever have again. Delish! We saw a lot of mountain bikers while on the Setubal peninsula, and I'm sure a Bifanas makes a perfect post-ride as well as post-wine tasting meal. When in Portugal, try the Bifanas!

Visited with family on a week day... place is always full and i wanted to understand the reason for this. Most of the menu is grilled fish based - dourada, seabass, carapaus. We asked for dourada, seabass and carapaus.Fish was fresh, and well cooked. Size of dourada and seabass was ok for one portion, carapaus arrive with 3 small fishes - clearly small portion size for 8euros.We had to ask for potatos portion asThey forgot 1 of them. Salad included in the menu is small we asked another and that was charged on top.Service was friendly, but efficiency depends on the staff member as some clearly do not know what to do.In a nutshell, good fish, portions are just ok, and pricey comparing portion size - value. There are better places for good fish in the area. We did not tried desserts prefered to go another place for that.

The food is very good, I particularly recommend the Picanha and the Espetada. The service is usually quite good, albeit a tad slow when they are busier. I didn't give it five stars because I think that it's quite expensive, especially given its location.

âPosta de Vitela Mirandesaâ is a wonderful dish for 2 and we ate it in this cute resto. It is a bit off the beaten track, simple and very affordable. Wonderful traditional food from the North. The meat comes from their home town and is grilled to perfection! Nice staff, not sure if they speak English, but just ask for the dish I mention in this review (it is for 2, but maybe for 3 if you are not big eaters. Go eat here!!

Although full of locals - we were quickly told German spoken downstairs & English upstairs! From the outside you have no idea how large the restaurant is inside. Place is clean & service prompt.Staff very helpful & informative. Only one menu in English! Portions of meat were huge and very tastey. Meat delivered on a very attractive platter garnished with fruit & various sauces. Prices by European standards were very cheap. Local wine selection was good - the carafed house red wine more than adequate.

What to do and see in Azeitao, Portugal: The Best Places and Tips
Cozy place with several roomswith vintage environments with wood oven and an outside space.
My first time on the place, already know the owner and the type of food. We made a birthday party in there. The food was very good and fast to serve, the staff is very nice. The only thing I was not so happy about was the price, we paid a lot for the things we ate. But overall is a very good place to dinner and stay until late...
