This small restaurant and hotel is located next to a bubbling stream in a very peaceful setting.the Chef is accomplished- pressing outstanding meals- good value for money, but not cheap. The setting- inside in the winter or on the terrace in teh summer is restful- a lovely place for a sunday lunch.Service was outstanding.Teh hotel offers rooms- the card says 80-160 euros plus meals. A lovely get away.

We took the 12.5 Euro Menu du Jour ( menu of the day ). For that restrained price we had first course, second course, side dish, a plate of different kinds of cheese and dessert. We added a pitcher of Chardonnay from the region of Vezelay and we had a great lunch. The restaurant is beautifully designed, aesthetic, clean and well kept.Clean restroom. The food was very good, aesthetically served, service was good and efficient. We enjoyed every minute at that restaurant.Such a good meal for such a low price - well done !

We stayed at this hotel for one night in June 2014. Situated on a quiet street with private parking close to our room, it has a small shady courtyard garden with tables for eating outside if the weather permits. Our room was fairly small and modern, very clean and well equipped with air con, and kettle. En suite shower room well thought out and functional. Great shower. You need to be on fairly intimate terms with your fellow room sharer though as a glass door which separates the shower/loo from the bedroom doesn't quite close. We ate our evening meal in the garden - a comprehensive menu with a vegetarian option which was actually quite good. Friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Auberge Bourguignonne ou vous pourrez dzguster une cuisine traditionnelle avec des produits et des spécialités de la région! L'equipe se fera un plaisir de vous accueillir avec le sourire!
I wonder why this restaurant doesnât have a better rating. My experience was strongly positive. The small entrance hides a large pleasant and comfortable dining room. Here, while looking at a collection of more than one hundred old tureens, youâll enjoy a good meal listening to soft music. Soft colors, simple traditional décor, tables not so close one another. Everything for a pleasant meal. Good offer of dishes, large portions, desserts that will leave a nice memory of the place. Average price of set menus is ⬠28 (fully deserved). Choice of wine by the glass (with the bottle opened at your table). A place to recommend.

If you want an authentic French experience definitely go to Bar Le Relax. We had a great dinner here, the owner Jean-Luc was really friendly and kind. We really enjoyed our meal and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a casual, delicious meal in genuine surroundings.

We were shown to a table by our waitress and after a rather lengthy wait she finally came over to ask us what we wanted to drink. At that point I looked through the wine list, and also asked if she had a menu in English as we had seen one outside. To our amazement she snatched the wine list from me, opened it up and said that this is the page you want, slammed it back on the table in front of us, and then turned her back on us and engaged a young family on the next table in conversation. We waited for her to finish so we could order our wine, however she walked off without even giving us a passing glance. The family she had been talking to looked embarrassed. We remained sitting there for another 10 mins (seemed like an hour) without any further sighting of the waitress, but then decided to leave without further ado. Prior to our visit to this particular establishment, we had enjoyed an excellent stay in France and Spain and always enjoyed our meals out. In fact after leaving L'Horloge we found an excellent restaurant, and experienced the complete opposite in levels of service. If the owner of L'Horloge reads this review he may also like to know that we spent Euro98.00 at the other restaurant, and will hopefully have a "polite" word with the waitress, I would imagine he can identify her from the aforementioned clues !!

We were a party of five and stayed for one night in the Avallon area and came to this restaurant for dinner around 19h. We were seated without problems and really enjoyed the food - could even see how Madam Angeline and her team prepared the tasteful dishes and we didn't had to wait too long. The portions were correct and tastes excellent. Thank you for such a lovely evening and experience! Keep up the good work.

Nicely decorated old fashioned restaurant where the food is excellent. Waiters take an amazing care putting the forks / knives and glasses at a perfect location on the table. They welcome you wearing t-shirts, but offer a high class service. Our meal was excellent, we wished we were staying another day in Avallon, we would have returned. Plate size was generous, nice variety, everything was delicious.

We were a group of 40 car enthusiasts, visiting Burgundy in Mustangs:)We had dinner both Friday and Saturday evening at this restaurant and both meals were excellent. The staff are efficient and friendly; even though they vere very busy, they took their time to talk and joke a little. We would love to come back next time we visit this part of France

Heading south from Paris on the A6 in the usual mountain-bound traffic, we decided to avoid the busy 'aires' and exit at Avallon for lunch. Encouraged by the reviews, we stopped at this place. Lovely fire burning, cute decoration, simple French menu with very reasonable prices. (No children's menu though and some mockery at the request.) St Jacques and pavé de rumsteak perfectly seared, beautiful sauces on the 'plats du jour'. Quick service. Tummies feeling happy as we get back on the road.
