We visited this relais specifically because it said on its website that it sold dark beer. We arrived about twenty minutes after it opened in the evening, when it was virtually empty. We were asked to sit outside (because we werenât going to eat? Because one of us was wearing shorts?) which we agreed to do: but before going, we made our way to the bar to see what beers were on tap. The staff could not cope with this. They kept telling us to go outside. When we finally persuaded them to tell us what they had on tap, we were told not to have the dark ale as we wouldnât like it. We insisted, and it was in fact very good - although sweet. We were also asked to pay when the drinks were delivered , which is rare in France. Two mature English visitors were unlikely to do a runner, but still...Then the card machine would not work. We werenât carrying cash, and it took them several iterations to get their system to work (a problem with the line, we were told). They became much more agreeable when they needed our cooperation in multiple attempts to read a card.We felt that the business let itself down. They were unwelcoming and brusque and unhelpful. It wasnât a language problem as our French is good. Rather, it was an attitude problem.

An attractive little brasserie on the edge of the old town, which was busy with what largely appeared to be regulars when we visited on a weekday lunchtime. It offers a good value plat du jour for 8.50 euros. The steak, chips & salad we had was good and there was a good choice of desserts. Service was friendly and efficient despite the crush of customers..

Great location facing the park. Menu mainly focuses on meat. Whether tartare or grilled steaks. The wine list covers Bordeaux wines quite well and not too expensive. Glassware not so good. We arrived at 7.00pm and asked if we could have a drink while waiting for food service, well we waited and waited for service and then waited for our order of pre dinner drinks to arrive. After finishing our entree we had to ask 3 times for the bottle of red ordered at the commencement of the evening to be brought to the table. Meals of Gizieres salad and steaks for main course were average. The staff walked around not really caring for the clientele and certainly not wanting to make eye contact. There must be a better place to eat in Aurillac.

Near the river, very easy parking opposite. Very good service; slightly more expensive than other similar restaurants but excellent quality food and good sized portions.Dear Sir,We thank you very much for your nice rewiew. We are very pleased to know that you enjoy your meal in our restaurant "La Brasserie d'Aurillac".Our restaurant is not very more expensive than the other "brasseries" in Aurillac, moreover our Chef is very careful about the quality of the dishes and only works with very fresh products. We hope to see you again if you ever come back in our beautiful region!Regards,The directory.

At Tables Ze Komptoir, we give a special attention to working with fresh and high standard produce. In order to do so we have chosen a majority of local suppliers and the art of cooking is left to Chef Romain Prunet's hands and talent.
Caught out in a downpour we went in looking like a couple of drowned rats but were welcomed, seated and had our order taken very quickly. It is a brasserie style restaurant with swift service and very good food. In the centre of town opposite the Hôtel de Ville

Nothing wrong really but number 2 here ? The outside terrace is proof that can offer the most scabby space and put tables there and people will eat! Even if overlooked by broken windows Pizza were well cooked and enjoyed by my wife and son. Although asking for a spicy pizza in France is pointless. The French seem to think Tomato Ketchup is spicy !Cote de Boeuf was ok. Not best cut of meat but was tasty enough Just think an OK place. That's all.

We had lunch for a second time in a couple of years at this restaurant and both times really enjoyed it. Great value and a little bit different. We would certainly go back if we were in the area.

Severely lacking in atmosphere and the food a little pretentious. Well priced for what you get but the wine is rather expensive. Could do with a facelift and some nice background music and improved lighting. Waitress was very nice if a little busy when we visited as she was on her own. Not the worst but could be a lot better with a bit of TLC.

Champ des Vignes is a small restaurant in a side street in Aurillac. All it serves is good food and good wine. They don't do aperitifs, or soft drinks (apart from water), but the choice of wine is wide and generally excellent. A set lunch will set you back about 9 euros for a main course, or 10.5 for main course and desert. I usually come out of there with a bill of about 33 euros for two, for a main course, dessert, coffee and a half litre of good wine. In my experience, having eaten there about 6 times, the plat du jour has been confit de canard, steak, brochette de boeuf, or fish. It has always been very well prepared and served, and I have always left thinking that I had had a good deal, and that I would be back. I have never been disappointed and those who I have taken (French or English) have all enjoyed the restaurant. In short, this is an excellent little restaurant for the price, and I would recommend it.They also own the bar "La Fontaine" further down the street.
