Amelia is located in the romantic area of San Sebastian, its location is particular; "hidden" in a little busy street, a few meters from El Buen Pastor Cathedral. We are a modern restaurant, with capacity for 28 diners, where we only serve tasting menu;

The first time I’ve been moved to tears in a restaurant, this was original and spectacular in equal measures. Stunning food, friendly and informative service and beautiful wines to match the food. Nothing disappointed, a true culinary experience in the heart of San Sebastián.

Zelai Txiki

What can you say about a famous cook and a poor service? The food was great, no doubt. Some main courses come in real small, appetizer like sizes (e.g. the delicious Txangurro Donostiara, the See Spider) and other delicious main courses like the Cordero Lechal come without any noteworthy vegetables, just a nano strife of something. Maybe a question of concept? Maybe, but expectations aren't met.We asked the waiter for a solution to the See Spider issue, but the answer was quite abrupt: choose another meal and pay again. Not quite friendly. We needed also to decide upfront for the dessert, because... Generally, the waiter's interest for out table was quite peripheral and definitely not satisfactory.No doubt a great chef with a great talent, but with such service personnel he doesn't need any enemies. Zelai Txiki: keep up with the great cooking talents, but you have space for improvement in service.

This restaurant has been on our list for a long time, unfortunately it was not on our route so it never happened. After visiting this restaurant I immediately regretted that we had not been here before . We had a delicious meal here. We immediately made it up by going two days in a row. Although it was very busy, the service was also very friendly and service oriented. So do not make the same mistake we made and make sure that this restaurant is on your route when you are discovering the best places to eat in San Sebastian. When you would like to eat in the back of the restaurant we recommend that you make a reservation.

I rely on tripadvisor for recommendations.Mendaur Berria was listed as number one in San Sebastian and lived up to its ranking.We did something a San Sebastian resident would never do. We ate all our pinxos at one place. We couldn't see the point in going anywhere else. Nothing could be as good as this!Dishes can be ordered as pinxos size or racion which is bigger and probably meant for a few people. We had a racion size dish of calamari and then pinxos size of 8 other dishes followed by the lemon pie for dessert. We waddled out after paying EUR46.50!Originally we had booked a Michelin starred restaurant but cancelled it. We have been to a number of Michelin star restaurants around the world and have always walked out thinking:'OK but not worth the money'.Mendaur Berria food is beautifully presented and the server described each dish when they brought it to the table.A must visit, worth every cent!Thank you very much for your lovely words, for the visit and the review. We love that you enjoyed your experience in our house. Your opinion is very important to us, because is the way forward. We hope to see you again soon. Best regards.

Martin Berasategui

Our lunch at Martin Berastegui was one of our top 3 dining experiences ever, and possibly the best. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant is located in the hills outside of Donostia San Sebastian in a beautiful garden setting. Lovely décor - Not many tables, but all were full. Service was impeccable – polite, efficient and pleasant. And the food – beyond amazing. Every course was beautifully presented, creative and often hid a special surprise. Flavours bursting in your mouth, one thing appearing to be something totally different. Each serving was not more than a good mouthful but so much more because of the blends and mixtures of flavours. It was clear why this restaurant has 3 michelin stars – it was above and beyond the usual dining experience. We were so happy when Chef Martin himself came over to our table so we could tell him how much we enjoyed the meal. Special thanks also to the staff who booked our reservation and for follow up correspondence!

Misura

We hosted our wedding reception dinner at Misura and enjoyed the chef's recommended tasting menu for our group. Everything was beautifully presented, and meticulously executed. The restaurant prides itself on using local and organic products native to the region, thereby ensuring only the freshest items of the season are used. The dishes are flavourful, thoughtful, and easily one of the best meals we've ever had. Make sure to try the 62-degree egg and cod and the tarte tatin. What a delight! Everyone was raving about the culinary experience they had that night- not to mention, the attentiveness of the staff, and warmth of the environment. Everything was perfect! We will definitely come back to Misura and Arima again for our vow renewals!!! :) Thank you again for everything!

This is a handsome Basque cottage filled with happy diners from their community. They seemed to know each other very well, conversations were passionate and animated. And good food was clearly their focus. Their Bacalau omelette was very fragrant and moist and delicious. Lettuce salad with onions was refreshing and light. Grilled porchini mushrooms was served with a poached egg on top, Fried anchovies with garlic was outstanding. Red peppers stuffed with Squid in black ink was presented like an artist's drawing with a backdrop of brilliant orange. The rice pudding dessert "arroz con leche" was delicious, not too sweet, difficult to stop eating once you've started. Hi Haebbee. Thanks a lo for your nice words towards our house and of course, we do really appreciate for choosing our house for your great meal.We try to offer the best local products, fresh cooked and served with the best service, just for our guests to feel confortable, feel like at home and have a nice culinary experience, that´s our goal.Thanks a lot and hope to see soon.Best,
