This piece of Spain, just steps from The White House, will transport you to an elegant and royal atmosphere surrounded by friendly faces, an engaging menu and world-renowned wines. Taberna Del Alabardero opened its doors in 1989, becoming the first Spanis
This long-standing restaurant in DC is a great place to have authentic Spanish food with great service and great food. From very traditional to specialties all is terrific. The service is normally OK. It also offers, from time-to-time âthemeâ events like Flamenco nights and paellas days. Just a lot of fun at reasonable prices.

Forget all the cliches about heavy Austrian fare served by waiters in lederhosen. Leopold is about as Euro trendy as it gets, with an all-day coffee and drinks bar, an architecturally hip dining space, and a chic little patio complete with a minifountain.
I am inclined to give Kafe Leopold five stars yet I hesitate. In the restaurant world, five stars so often equates to ultra-fancy or super expensive or extremely exclusive - and Kafe Leopold is none of these. But, so what?So far, over three visits spread over three months, Kafe Leopold has given us very well prepared food and drinks at a reasonable price to be enjoyed in a pleasant atmosphere with good service and that, to us, merits five stars. Some advice. Don't drive. This place is literally in an alley in Georgetown and parking is nightmare and can be expensive. Don't come only for breakfast -that is the meal they tout the most, but its definiely not the only meal worth having.Don't be scared of the menu. Many pages, so far everything has been good.Call for reservations, particlularly for the weekend brunches or weekend dinners.Don't skp desert. Plan your meal so you have some space for one of the really amazing deserts they have.Be open to different food. The fare here is European, as in German/Austrian/Central European. If you have not had this before, this will be new. Don't become an ostrich and have a hamburger. Order something different.Don't let your appetite drive the order - the portions don't look big, but they are delicous and VERY FILLING. Less is more. For real.

We're a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means "the daily bread" in French, and like our name suggests, we're bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we ser
This place looks lovely, bright and airy with fresh baked goods but the reality of the food doesnât live up to the appearance, or the price. Coffee was tepid and cup (bowl) was chipped in two places. The plate of food was fine - egg perfectly soft boiled and fresh tasting fruit - but it cost $22 for a very mediocre experience. Service was attentive and pleasant.

Bistrot Lepic & Wine Bar, located in upper Georgetown, will transport you to the center of Paris as soon as you enter. Bistro food with all its subtle heartiness and its big choice of full-bodied wines is enveloped in a intimate, cozy interior. Wine tasti
The menu at Bistrot Lepic is a reliable blend of French favorites and is consistently delivered at a high level. The staff is uniformly friendly and professional. There is a nice selection of wines on the list. The special offerings are typically excellent. The dining room is small and it can be noisy when busy. This is one of the relatively few restaurants I keep returning to. Recommended.

Lovely seafood restaurant on the Potomac waterfront in Georgetown. The evening was very nice with good food and service, but $500 for two cocktails, two courses and a bottle of Pinot Grigio did leave us a little shocked. If you cannot be shocked by a dinner bill it is a good place to eat.

Pronounced 'la show me air', La Chaumière is as close as it gets to dining in a French country "inn". The unpretentious atmosphere enhanced by the central stone fireplace, wood beams and stucco walls offers a rustic and romantic escape from city life.
We found this gem on the Michelin good plate list. The food, service and atmosphere was fabulous. It felt like trip to a Burgundy or Loire Valley with its exposed beams and intimate dining. We ordered the Saumur Blanc but the wine list offered many good choices. Our group had the bison steak, lamb, venison and soft shell crab. We ended with a couple of apple tartes. I definitely will return.

Since 1999, Chef Wiedmaier infuses his Belgian heritage into Marcel's elegant haute French flagship restaurant. Regularly topping the best-of-lists in the nation's capital, in 2011 and 2012, it was rated the top restaurant for food by Zagat as well as one
Enjoyed the 7 course tasting dinner, accompanied by two bottles from private cellar. Elegant and comfortable dining room was the perfect stage setting - staff were gracious, efficient and a well-orchestrated ballet of unobtrusive service. Everything, from the amuse bouche, the bread, and dessert and cookies were well done. What impressed me the most is that the management has confidence in its guests that they have plenty to talk about and don't need to be blasted with loud music to "enjoy" the party, or being rushed to "eat to the beat." Wish more restaurants would follow Marcel's lead.

Youâre seen as a cash machine hence in case that like us youâre seen as a small opportunity, youâre immediately forgotten. Differently from many other customers we didnât buy any wine, because of this we immediately became class b customers. All nearby tables were âpamperedâ, but mainly to keep pouring wine so that you could order more. I had mussels, moules a la dijoinnaise, which were good, while my wife had a salad, which was ok. Pricey place were nothing is genuine, still rated 2 stars as food was ok.
