We found this charming restaurant off a main walking street. We were seated in the historic room upstairs and enjoyed a lovely house kir. We followed this with a menu of the day--an excellent salad with goat cheese, a fish fillet that was well prepared and a tasty chocolate dessert with 3 courses for 16 euros--excellent value to price. The sever was friendly and helpful.

Ate lunch hear and enjoyed it very much, on the "quiet" side of the river opposite the Cathedral, small but very well appointed restaurant.Good food with that classic French style.Starters of warm salmon salad or rustic parsnip soup, Mains of White fish on a bed of leeks with balsamic or chicken on rice,Dessert of chocolate cake with ice cream or Kiwi with cream and biscuit crumbAll much more refined than I can describe in this review.Yours for 16 euro and worth a lot more.Great attentive staff as well

Picked this place as convenient for the Cathedrale where we were attending a wonderful organ concert. Very good lunch. The place was packed but service was excellent. Menu de 18 euros: fresh tasting salad with endive, bayonne ham, slithers of brie and a light dressing. Duck breast cooked in honey, but not sweet and sickly, served with creamed potato and aubergine. Pudding was a chocolate fondant. All delicious and with a light touch. Very good selection of wines by the glass, I had Brouilly, 4 euros for a generous glass. Only minor negatives; the place is slightly cave-like as it is in an old building with not many windows, and it was a little noisy due to a large party. I shall certainly be going again next time I go to Albi.

Tried this place based on TripAdvisor reviews but we were disappointed. The space itself is pleasant, but we were shocked when we saw the least expensive menu on Saturday afternoon was 31 euros! In Albi, this is extremely expensive. Comparable restaurants have a menu for about 18 euros. There is a less expensive menu--but only available Tuesday through Friday. My starter was a soggy, squash tartlet. The limp crust spoiled whatever chance it had. It was served with a small container of tepid squash soup on a cuttingboard with a sprinkling of hazelnuts down the middle. I left most of mine--but the waiter did not inquire as he removed the plate if we were happy. The next course was billed as smoked trout and scampi. It had a sort of nouvelle cuisine appearance: two cylinders of soft fish wrapped around half a shrimp sitting in a puddle of dreary lobster bisque (from a tin?).Maybe the real chef was ill or on vacation. That is the most charitable conclusion I can draw from this awful meal. With only two glasses of white wine, a bottle of mineral water and coffees, the bill for four came to about 140 euros. While we were trying to enjoy our coffees, the waiter cleaned the table next door with some product whose antiseptic smell wafted over us. We wondered if this was a technique to get lingering tables to leave. The music seemed to have gotten louder too. We live in the area and will NEVER be visiting this place again.

A very good meal but rather large portions, The food was fresh, well served and a good choice. The restaurant does not have outside space and was rather hot and stuffy

Centrum city restaurant with a nordic decoration( it's normal, the chef is Swedish and his wife is Belgian) You can enjoy the kitchen work thru the long Windows showing the chefs. Cosy and dynamic athmospher. The best place in Albi to travel sitting! We o
Maybe my opinion is not very subjective as I like very much, which can offer everything you need for a perfect dinner, but without âposhâ style. Lâepicurien has this special feature! You see action in the kitchen, as there is a glass wall to the action point of this place. Service is fast, attentive and very professional. Last but not least - food is very, very good. We took tuna and selection of French cold cuts to start and both were very tasty. As main course I took something what is called âpork spiderâ - a pieces of pork marinated in an Asian marinade and than grilled. My wife was for a turbot and she was also very satisfied

It's hard to find fault with this restaurant and I hesitated before deciding not to give it 5*. Service was good, friendly, food quality was very good, it's clean and comfortable. In the end I decided on 4* purely because there wasn't anything outstanding that made it stand out; everything was very good though and I haven't got any real criticisms. Certainly to be recommended and we will go back.Careful on the opening hours, it's only open Mon-Fri lunchtime and Thurs/Fri/Sat evening.

on a recent visit to Albi, having consulted trip, we prebooked Au Hibou, as our meeting place. It is small but has everything you need on a hot sunny day, (not sure it would be as good if it was raining) as the front wall opens out onto the market square. There is a limited selection of each course, restricted by what is available on the market, but the selection covers all possible needs and the food is both well presented and tasty.a 3 course meal plus wine (red and rose) and coffees for 120⬠very correct as the french say..I would definitely go again.Good evening paul24150,Thank you for your visit to our little restaurant. We are happy to have received you. Thank you for your comment .Albigeoisement,Alexandre
