This great restaurant is near the waterfront and although not large, does offer a wide range of tasty burgers. The first evening there was a little mix up with our order which was quickly put right and showed us that the owner cares about his customers. Although we generally don't eat in the same place twice when on holiday, we felt that the quality and value of the food here would be hard to beat and so we returned and had some tasty double-burgers which hit the spot!

We were too tired to go out for dinner, but with a hotel restaurant this good, why bother. The food is very tasty, the service is friendly and professional, and the decor is not bad. Prices were average for Iceland and the quality of food. The menu has a nice range of selections. This is a better restaurant than I expected for this hotel.

We didn't have a reservation, but they found a place for us at the back where it was quiet. I had grilled cauliflower in spinach sauce and it was delicious. My friends had duck or salmon. A good location a few steps down from the Art Museum.

Greifinn is without doubt one of the most popular restaurant in Akureyri . The menu is varied and the prices are moderate. Greifinn is ideal for individuals, groups and families that want to relax over food and drink. We make a point of running a family-f
My daughter had the potato and bacon soup, delicious and chunky. Huge portion. I had the mushroom soup. Very good but would have liked larger mushroom pieces in it. Good flavor. Both came with delicious home made bread and olive tapenade. My son like his chicken the mushroom pasta, a good size portion and my husband enjoyed his seafood salad. For Iceland, the prices were reasonable. The service was very good.

Strikið restaurant is located on the 5th floor in the centre of town, offering a splendid view over the fjord and the new Cultural and Conference house Hof. During summer meal can be enjoyed on the sheltered terrace adjacent to the restaurant.
Wow, we had the seafood soup...too die for and the fresh cod and salmon entree for lunch. Huge portions but we managed to eat it all! The soup was a large bowl with lots of seafood and had a nice coconut curry flavored broth, I could of bathe in it. Salmon and cod very fresh and delicious serve with lots of veggies, seared potatoes and a rocket salad. Not expensive for us in the us cause of the included tax and tip. Bargain. Beautiful views in the dinning room.Thank you so much for this great review.you are always welcome back ;)

Modern relaxed setting, serving fresh locally caught seafood and meats. Surrounded by beautiful art and sculptures, you can relax with space to enjoy your meal. Booking always advised but pop in and relax while we sort you a table.
We came here because i had read the good reviews and was excited to try it. We got a reservation and were told they would only hold table for 5 minutes. We arrived punctually and were seated by a friendly hostess. The waiter was also friendly. We had the catch of the day which was wolffish. Food came out and looked nice - fish served in a pan with potatoes, sauce, and salad altogether - I don't think salad should be served in a hot pan, but I guess that's what they do here. The problem came when we started eating it and it was WAY OVERSALTED. You could not discern any other flavors besides salt. It was very unpleasant and totally ruined the meal for us. I couldn't even finish eating it. The waiter never checked back in to see if everything was ok. The best part of the meal was the bread which they serve in these silly little shopping carts (I guess they think it's whimsical, we thought it was dumb). And there weren't even any bread plates, so you had nowhere to lay your bread to butter it, etc. Unfortunately, this was our worst meal in 12 days in Iceland. Very disappointing :(Sorry the meal was not to your taste we actualy dont add any salt to the wolf fish, the sauce as explained is a citrus sauce and we garnish with cappers and olives to use natural salt, the citrus is often confused as salt. What suprises me is i personaly come to your table and asked if the meal was ok just like I do with every table this is why the waiter does not need to check back, i do it personaly. but you said everything was fine and also when paying said it was fine. . our shopping trolleys and the other random stuff we use is a toast to the namesake and builder of the restaurant Noi he made the many strtange sculptures you see around you in Akureyri and the restaurant, he found uses for some very strange items and we do the same
