A regular visitor to Aix-les-Bains, we wanted to push the boat out so booked here for a family meal. Unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. Service was slow but the staff pleasant and helpful if you could get their attention. Our starters arrived but no bread and we had to go and find a water to bring spoons for the soup! The main courses eventually arrived but they were cold or lukewarm at best. But the most surprising but disappointing thing was the complete lack of flavour exasperated by a lack of seasoning. We gave up in the end and didnât bother with either desserts or a coffee because we couldnât wait any longer! 2.5 hours for 2 courses!! We complained and did get 10% off the bill and the staff were apologetic. However, it was clear that there were issues - we were not the only ones complaining- but at no point were the staff proactive or apologising for the wait. It was only after complaining that they apologised. We would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant in the future. We will certainly not return. Dear 748amandat,Thank you for taking time to share your experience. We are truely sorry to know that you didn't enjoy our restaurant. Please know that we apologise for this oversight which is totally exceptional. That's why we offered you a 20 % off the bill (not 10%). You should have noticed us your disappointment during your meal ; we could have tried to meet your expectations. Again, we are sorry for your bad experience and we remain at your disposal if you want to discuss with us.Best regards,

Had one of the best lunches ever. Carpaccio du veau roti avec herbs. A plat du jour. The staff and service were excellent. Not at all rude even though our French is minimal. The salad, main and frites were all excellent. The setting is superb, We travel the world and this place is exceptional. Will return asap.

We travelled from Canada to visit friends in Aix-les-Bains, they took us to this fine restaurant. We received awesome service and excellent food. We ordered the fish special and is was so good. The chefs take special care in preparing the food! The restaurant is family owned, the owners own the wine store and the deli across the street. You have an excellent choice of wines, cheese, fresh fish and meat to choose from.It is a very unique restaurant, beautifully decorated with 2 levels. You can dine down or upstairs. We are so glad we visited this place! It represents France and provides a unique dining experience!

I was born here, and hadnât tried this restaurant yet in Aix les Bains. Very reasonably priced, with a very good welcome and atmosphere. We enjoyed starters of duck salad and reblochon pastry (local cheese), mains of locally caught fish and steak, and desserts of café gourmand and vacherin. All 3 courses plus wine pichet for less than â¬80. I would have given four stars to this restaurant, if it wasnât for the service which felt a bit ârushedâ. Broken plates in the kitchen, dishes on our table taken before we were finished, altogether not a very relaxing time for the guests. But this may be the French way that I was used to when I lived here many years ago. Besides from this, a very good experience.

Nice well run restaurant. Waiters very friendly even though they were busy. Good menu and we enjoyed our meals very much. Nice terrace outside and restaurant inside too.

I went to the restaurant with my friends for a nice dinner. I ordered a hamburger, it did taste fabulous. As a desert I ordered a crême brulée, which was one of the best I ate to far. The only downside was the well done hamburger, when I ordered a medium rare. But still the burger was great!

With family visiting the area. We were mostly alone eating in a Saturday evening but the bar was hopping. Food came quickly and was very reasonable. Tartine Savoyarde and great salads. The small salads were big enough for a meal. Smoked salmon appetizer made in house was also fine as an entree. Good desert too. Café gourmand and îles flottant were both very good. Add a little complimentary home se schnapps to that and we were on our way. Recommended!

We ate here as members of a group of 35 on an overnight stop while travelling to Italy. Although the menu choice was understandably very limited because of our numbers, the food was of a good quality and served cheerfully by the staff. Generous with the provided wine, all members of staff looked after us well and I would have liked to try something of the normal menu, which seemed very appetising. As it was, we left replete and well satisfied.A big thank you for your comment and see you soon on your next trip.
