Would never have even thought of this venue, without our local hosts. It's on a horse race training ground. This was an exceptional meal of pumpkin starter, pasta course, beef main and dessert. Great wines and other spirits. Our group was international and all thought the food was the best during our days in the city of Bologna (and between us we visited about a lot!). The amazing dish was the most seemingly simple of tortellini with ricotta, but it was incredible. On the main course, the beef was cooked perfectly. The other pasta dish with bacon cooked in grappa for 10 hours. It was a three hour lunch of simple and highly satisfying food.

I had consistently good food on the many visits to this restaurant. Wonderful "strettine" (linguine-like home made pasta) with different mushrooms, according to season. Even with black truffles. Divine. I enjoyed also their roast "coniglio". They bring to the table "crescentine", instead of bread, better enjoyed with their local cheese "squaccherone" . The service is very attentive and considerate. From the owners as well. I look forward to returning. The restaurant is always full of people enjoying their food. Reservations advisable. It is also very reasonable.

This place serves great food, good prices, good service and should be number 1 in this area. unfortunately is is listed under two names, Trattoria-Romagnola and La Romagnola. If you combined the review it would be number 1. The great Ayrton Senna ate here many times. For that reason alone it is worth the visit.

It was recomended by a local friend and it became one of my favourites...Great minestre, meat dishes, fried veggies and tipical italians desserts!Nice atmosphere on a beautiful hillside, book in advance as it is always full.

This restaurant kind of popular with local. Though mainly staff speaking Italian, one staff help us with English translations for the menu. My friend had lamb steak which is so good and my was meat with cheese and rockets salad which also good. And the dessert was absolute perfect, we had creme brulee and kind of Panna cotta. Ambiance was homey, staff were friendly and food also good. Recommended stop

If you visit Bologna and go shopping at Castelguelfo Outlet stores, lunch or dinner at osteria La Civichella makes it all the more worth it. Great Emilia Romagna food. What a treat.
