The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. while visiting the east and West Bank, we stopped in this restaurant as it was included in our tour. For the Egyptian standards I wasn't expecting the tasty and lovely food we had. I would recommend the lentil soup, delicious! And the staff absolutely nice and polite. The view of the river nile is just stunning!

Pretty much 12 months have passed since our last visit, and its still a great place to visit for drinks (cheap) and dinner (also cheap). The staff are really friendly. The beer is served ice cold and the barman know how to make a mean cocktail! The mojito and the Long Island ice tea are especially good. We ate a number of different burgers and they're well cooked, served with fries and very filling. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in Luxor.

Your favourite waiter from the Africa Restaurant (Ahmed/Adam) has taken his expertise and experience and opened his own restaurant specialising in traditional Egyptian Food, like Mama makes. The house specialities are Stuffed Roast Quail, Camel Meat Targi
As I've written before, This is one of my must-go places. Two enjoyable meals this trip.one solitary and one with friends.Ahmed was ever the congenial host & the food was fresh & hot.It was during the daily temps of 45C so I was careful to sit under a fan, but Ahmed quickly switched on one of the portable Air/Con blowers. OK, I had to trap the menus under the cutlery to stop them from flying away, but I wasn't going to complain!Very pleasant experiences

Gerdaâs has moved from itâs old location near the Hilton, into town, off Medina Street.Itâs new location means there are far more local customers eating there & there is obviously now a very busy take-away business. We saw, I think, 5 separate orders going out the door for delivery, each being several carrier bags worth.Food was as previous so we tried the Frickadellen & Veal again. Didnât spot any difference. However, the seafood soup wasnât available.Food was reasonably priced, our 2 mains, 2 desserts & 2 canned drinks coming to 203LE.Our host was as pleasant as ever as well.Itâs much handier for our hotel now, so we will be back (to misquote a well-known film)

Prices are also amazing.. we had an lovely dinner for 2, for just about 10â¬, including 2 teas and desserts!! Brand new establishment, fully refurbished, experienced and professional staff, fresh ingredients daily.
I passed this restaurant during the day, noticed its charming exterior and was delighted when my friend took me there that night. Aisha is warm and friendly from the minute you walk in. The food was delicious. I usually like to try different restaurants but Aisha was so good, I went there several nights. Salads, bread, tagines are amazing. Make sure you save room for dessert. Everything fresh and homemade. Servers are so pleasant and take care of your every need. Highly recommend.
