It is the capital of the Rhodope regional unit. It was the administrative centre of the Rhodope-Evros super-prefecture until its abolition in 2010, by the Kallikratis Plan. Weâd been advised by a friend, not to miss the chance to have lunch at Sultan Tepe if visited the city of Komotini. He proved all right, when the rich menu with delicate recipes from east are more than great. The ambient is also very nice and the service very professional. We highly recommend the âtabouleâ salad and the âtsitirâ from main courses a lamb meat wrapped with pie accompanied with tomato sauce.
