Travelled to Borovets in Feb 2019 and ate here one night. Service is good and waiting on staff very friendly/helpful but this place is expensive compared to the rest of the resort and very expensive compared to Samakov town. Quality isnât a patch of what it once was so probably wouldnât go back there. Central location for the slopes but they are certainly not the best value place around and this was the most expensive meal we had while we were in Borovets and there are better quality/priced restaurants there.

We are a small family business run for more than 15 years. We are happy to welcome you and serve you traditional Bulgarian food, typical for our region. We try to revive some almost forgotten recipes and use veggies and wild fruits from our forest. We'll
This is a true family-owned restaurant with excellent food. That's why I wonder why they don't post a good direction sign on the main street - the one they have is hardly visible.Otherwise, it's a magic place, especially taking into account that the owner of the restaurant is a legendary person in Bulgaria, who was not only one of the top skiers in Bulgarian history, but also supervised construction process of the biggest ski lift in Borovets (Yastrebnets) tourists use daily. We were really lucky to meet him and talk to him.I would heartliy recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and opulent Bulgarian food. Roasted pork and kebabs there were definitely the best we tried in Borovets.

I was rather disappointed that our Ski guide brought us to this restaurant to eat. Not only was it heaving - right at the bottom of the chair lift and near ski school station - but the food was most disappointing and expensive for what I received. I paid 5lv in the morning to use the toilet - which was clean, but the coffee was cheap and nasty instant. And paid 17lv for a cheese burger and Coke Zero. The burger was virtually raw and tasted of cheap frozen meat - which I didnât eat. And my chips were cold and some not cooked through. I didnât complain as I could see it was too busy and service was lacking. I only ate the bbq toasted bun which was edible. When I visited the toilet at lunch, they were in an awful state and had no toilet paper. Will not be visiting this place again.

Visited here for lunch, we ordered a couple of pizzas and breaded cheese between a family of four. Order was taken promptly and drinks arrived quickly. The pizzas were very good, nice flavour with a good base. The cheese was not as described and lacked flavour. Whilst the food was good we felt the service was functional as opposed to welcoming and friendly. Reasonable prices but service could have been more welcoming.

Super fresh, tasty cuisine with friendly staff and excellent service. Log fire and not too intrusive TV if you need it. Bulgare is in a prime location being right on the slopes but it is still fabulous value for money compared with others and the UK. No complaints about large portions. Super people who aim to please. x

We visited Bistro Queen on trip advisor recommendations. Weâve also been to Bulgaria for the last three years (Pamporovo). The best value food in Europe! This was the worst meal Iâve eaten / ever. The steak was inedible and unidentifiable as any cut of beef our party have known. The kids had chicken but it was sparse and dry. Potatoes and veg were amazing. Such a shame that the the rest was bad. We visited because of the reviews stating great food for low price but our bill was high, even for south London and the food was terrible. Iâd say stay away.

The local skillet dish is definitely not one for the faint hearted. What a challenge to finish it all and a "flaming" excellent belly buster oozing with flavour.Good service with an easy going singing duo to accompany your fine food and drinks. Log fire sets off the welcoming homely feel.Great choice of local dishes to choose from that were thoroughly enjoyed by all in our party. Its well worth the extra walk further down the hill so don't overlook it because of its location away from the main central selection of bars and restaurants.

Located directly on the Red-Flag slope, Sangria Restorante is a modern and contemporary Mediterranean restaurant, specialising in authentic Tapas to suit every palette. In addition to tapas, the extensive menu also has a variety of fish, meat and vegan op
Well, we found this place after a disappointing evening in off-season Borovetz - 2 restaurants did not satisfy us, until we came to Sangria. This place has good food (with great vegan options!!!) with great accommodation - we were greeted warm-heartedly by Dave who was a great company for 3 strangers in an empty ski town. Safe to say this was our best evening during our trip.

Managed by husband and wife team, Bobby and Kas, Bobbyâs Bar is a family run restaurant, 100metres across from the gondola on the right-hand side. If you are coming from the Rila end of the resort, walk down towards the gondola and you will find us half w
We had a nice dinner in the Bar. The place is comfy and nice, the food is good, but the best thing was our host, Dave. He is a funny and very welcoming man, made us feel really cool here. He gave us good tips about the region and offered us a free welcome shot. A great guy, who enjoy his job and it comes through.Hey Guys,Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review - it really does mean the world to all the team. We are delighted that you had such an amazing time in Bobby's Bar and hope to see you again soon.Love Bobby, Kas, Dave, Krissi & The Team.

We read the reviews and went each day we were there (four days). On the 4th day, it was just too busy and Peter reluctantly couldn't accommodate us, but we understood. The place is small but that's part of the appeal. The other appeal is the excellent food and affordable drinks. the garlic potato was divine, the garlic bread rolls excellent, the pizza superb, the spinach and cheese dish delicious. An open fire greeted us on every occasion, alongside a genuine warmth from the staff. Even when tables were 'booked', they attempted to fit people in, even for a short stay. You MUST book for the evenings if you go in busy weeks, as everyone now knows about this gem, but late afternoon, you can chance it and get lucky. Super place.
