Just like on our three previous visits to Bansko, we stopped here every late afternoon on the way back to our hotel, around five minutes before the end of the ski road. The drink was amazingly cheap, around £1 for a large bottle of beer, and the food was equally well-priced and tasty. Family run by 2 daughters, who speak excellent English, and their father who keep a watchful eye on them as he clears the tables.

Trip Advisor only has 14 restaurants listed in Bansko. This restaurant is not one of them. I ate here twice on my last visit and it is lovely and deserves a review! I had to write to my hotel in Bansko to figure out any information about it. I did not fin
The restaurant is in one traditional old house. The garden is very beautiful. No childrens playground. The service was very good - friendly and fast. But we were a little disapounted from the menu and the cooking. We went looking for something very traditionall from the region and were expecting some very nice old school home cooked bansko dishes like lamb in stew or the Shkembe soup or the onion salad and some exciting local desserts ( like sheeps yogurt or crem caramel, etc.). From the outside we rated the restaurant between organic friendly and home made old recepie cooking. But unfortunately our expectations were not fulfilled. The menu was not original at all- no original recepies, no cooked dishes (except for guivetsche), just basic barbeque, no soups in the evening, no original home made lemonade, no meat in the Chorbadjiesko gueveche (except for a slice or two salami). Instead there were spagetti and rice on the menu, cheesecake and some other foreigner dishes. It was no possible to get only one scope ice - the portion is 3 scopes :) There were one or two interesting salads. But again such a restaurant should offer a home made sheep's/goats cheese from the region instead of normal cheese p.example. The tomatoes in the salad were really tasty like real garden tomatoes. Short: nice atmosphere, great garden and service and average alltought pricy menu and cooking.

I was really looking forward to going here as I have visited in the past however this time I was disappointed. I had the cornflake chicken which were okay but not as tasty as I have had, a bit dry. My daughter had a pizza which again was alright, she also ordered the coconut chocolate ice cream dish which we waited ages for but still came frozen, she had marks on her hand where she tried to gouge it out with her spoon. My other daughter had bananas in pyjamas which she really enjoyed.

What a gem of a place nestled in the Old Town of Bansko. Having skied for 6 days and eaten in our hotel each evening, we wanted something authentic and special for our last night in Bansko. We booked (necessary it seems esp on a weekend) for 7pm and were shown a table upstairs. Both the upstairs and downstairs have a great atmosphere, warm and cosy with big open grills in the centre. The staff were great- one guy was hilarious in fact and all spoke great English. The menu is extensive and everything sounded delicious. We shared garlic bread, stuffed peppers and a Bulgarian salad to start and then had the huge chicken and pork skewers and grilled chicken fillet accompanied by chips and vegetable rice. Washed down with 2 carafes of white wine, a beer, a couple of soft drinks and a couple of bottles of water....all for £60 for 5 of us! Great value for money and delicious fresh food. Not to be missed. One of the only restaurants in Bansko that doesn't need someone on the street trying to persuade you to go in. That's tells a story! Try it!

Those Bansko cooks are great! This tavern has been for 100 years and continues to attract Bulgarians and foreigners with their dishes.See â¦.â¦. The restaurant is furnished in a rustic style- embroideries, patterned tablecloths, geraniums and pelargoniums, wooden tools, copper pots and other household tools, preserved by the old Bulgarian houses;â¦. The wine and rakia are served in pottery;â¦. They have branded clay plates.Feel â¦.â¦. The waiters are cheerful and playful- they explain the meals so that you wish to eat them all, and they offer you from time to time to top up your pottery cup with more rakia, wineâ¦;â¦. The crispy skin of the slowly-prepared in oven pork leg.Hear â¦.â¦. The sizzling sound of meat, served on a special hot plate, to finish its cooking on your table;â¦. I donât know if itâs Friday and Saturday only, but thereâs a little orchestra singing live local folklore, typical for the region of Pirin mountain.Smell â¦.â¦. The appetizing smell of homemade fries-crispy and very tasty;â¦. The meat they serve on a hot plate on your table, besides that theyâre sizzling appetizing, they also smell temptingâyou can eat them right away, but theyâre really hot on that plate, so as long as you can hear them, you can only wait impatiently. To understand what I Tasted at Baryakova mehana, visit my blog placescases.com. You will even see a short movie dedicated to the tavern. To explore more interesting places in Bulgaria, try the search field of placescases.com with the name of the city you are interested in.

Cosy Log House Restaurant, situated in the new part of Bansko city.Quality food presented with the newest gastronomic way ,served from professional and helping staff.Decent selection of fragrant local wines.Traditional Bulgarian dancing and singing show.
Visited with friends while on vacation. Big group of people. Service was more than fantastic. Fast, informed, smiling, polite. Unlike most places we visited locally. Food was simply fantastic. Large portions, well cooked. Couldnât find a simple problem. The waiters managed to keep everyone happy, what ever we asked for. Will not have the chance to visits again since we are leaving but just have to highly recommend this place. Prices very very reasonable. Well done guys.

We are in town for Bansko operafest. One acter, so early finish. We decided to choose all starters. Tongue in butter and garlic, tripe in butter, sauté potatoes, cheese fried with honey and nuts, herb & spice toast, two glasses red wine and a beer, for two, came to 41bgn, so a tenner each sterling. And it was good, and the young waiting staff smiled and were pleasant.Same food on Pirin Street or up near the gondola, double the price.Very very good, highly recommended
