It is in principle a top wine bar and more recently they started to serve smaller meals in between tapas and a fully fledged restaurants. Very cozy atmosphere. Fantastic alternative if you donât want a full meal.

We started both with a wild bouillon which was served with a bit of tartare of dear filet. Never had such a nice bouillon. Then we had dear filet and wild boar. Both cooked to perfection, tender with some veges superbly arranged. Again I come back when I am in Schiedam. Service very friendly and acceptable prices for a haut cuisine kitchen. Including a few glasses of wine we payed 90 Euro.Just some minor comments: serve the amuses with the aperative and not just before you get the first course

The Lucas drinkbar is located in a very nice area in the centrum from Schiedam, It's in front from a small nice square, surrounding by bar and restaurants. Hier is cozy and the waiters are friendly. The wine and beer menu are good. I recommend it!!

When visiting Holland you should also have a look in Schiedam. This quaint town with real people is not so much busstling with life, but it is really nice. The restaurant Zaalig feels like a local pub in the middle of the center. The food is really good and made with passion. There is a real nice atmosphere hanging around with nice people having food here and a tastefull interior. The service was also as it had to be: kind, direct and pretty fast. No complaints. For some reason I did have a stomach ache afterwards, but I think this was because I stole food from the plate of my mom, who was ill... The fries could be better: for their fancy name they are not that special at all. That is a shame!

Ristorante tipico olandese non turistico, nel quartiere Delfshaven.
An inexpensive yet terrific dining experience in the friendliest atmosphere. The diners formed one big happy family eating in the proprietors' cosy living room. The food was plentiful and delicious. As foreign travellers, we were made to feel completely at home, there were plenty of english speakers. If you're travelling, its a great way to get some Dutch home-cooking. NB Be prepared to share a table, and its cash only.

After having visited Sjiek in summer out on the terrace, this time the visit was in winter. Inside the small historical building there is a nice and cozy bar with some tables, and upstairs a bigger restaurant space. There was a good choice of meat and fish dishes and also of wines although on the expensive side. The food turned out to be excellent and with friendly service. So this place is for winter as well as summer.

The riz the veau was cooked to perfection with a superb truffle sauce. Accompanied with young veges of the seaon. Can't wait to go back. People in my party were equally enthusiastic about their meals.

Fantastic food, great service, friendly hosts, beautiful setting by the river. I was in Schiedam for 2 nights and found this windmill place on the first night just as they were shutting. They stayed open so that I could enjoy a super meal of Dover sole. I was so impressed I came back the next night to try more. They were spot on with my monkfish and scallops and lobster bisque. All this while watching the ducks fishing for dinner.
