The place to be in the city centre of Leeuwarden. For both Lunch and Dinner, but also the best terrace in town to relax and enjoy
In the middle of town, near all the beautiful old buildings.Big terrace with heathers and a very attentive staff. The food is excellent and the choice of whines is also very nice. There is enough place, but it is wise to make a reservation, because they are a busy restaurant.

We checked in sipping drinks in the sun outside, were treated very friendly before deciding to sit a bit warmer inside (yes NL in springtime). Had among others oysters, pasta, flammkuchen (called pizza), good fries and wonderful bearnaise(in Friesland haha), filet americain, tia maria coffee and friandises, great plate of french cheeses.Excellent choice, fine quality, though not cheap... and excellent service, so friendly, compliments!Recommended!!

WOW, that's the feeling you get when you enter the Grand Café. The impressive wooden ceiling draws the eyes upwards but don't miss the baristas in the large central bar. They would love to give you a warm welcome! The most important thing, besides the int
This is a stunningly designed restaurant in an old post office. I was dining alone and sitting at a long sharing table. The menu is deceptively big but different dishes for different times of the day, so the choice per meal is small and all tasty. I went for the chefâs weekly choice - fish - and a portion of chips, both were great. Reason for the low-ish rating is not the food - just the extraordinary amount of time it took to get food on the table and then get the bill and pay: the main course took over 30 minutes from ordering; the dessert (already made) took 25 and the bill...I had to ask 3 times: the first time when I ordered dessert, the last time 15 minutes after finishing my dessert ...Hi! Thank your compliments and great review! We do everything to make our guests happy and so they enjoy their stay with us. I'm therefore very upsad to hear you didn't get the service in our restaurant you expected. The service time for both main course, dessert and bill should be much faster! I'm going to discuss this with the restaurant manager and the team. I appoligize that this happend to you, we would like to welcome you again.

After our experience with the last hotel restaurant (see my review of Navegadores), we were reluctant to try this hotel restaurant. However, after a long day of travel and a late arrival we had to make a choice between eating granola bars for dinner or giving this restaurant a go. We ended up in the adjacent restaurant (Le Brass) and while the menu certainly wasnât as fancy as the Michelin rated one it was very good. We both settled on the oriental salad, hubs with beef and me with shrimp, and it was excellent! Huge portion, delicious ingredients and just what the doctor ordered. We ate here again two nights later and while the food wasnât as good (hubs had fish, I had ribeye), the service was still very good. And the view is stunning!Dear TaxLass, Thank you very much for leaving this review for us, we value this dearly. Good to hear that you enjoyed your dinner at our brasserie. We can imagine that you enjoyed the view of Leeuwarden especially! Great to hear that the service was that excellent, and the salads were delicious. We will definitely share your review with the team. Kind regards, Hadewey Bakker

The bistro and wine bar Leeuwarden. traditional cuisine and a wide range of wines. terrace on the sunny side
We came here 2 nights in the row, yes, it is that good. First night we ate appetizers - olives with sundried tomatoes and red wine and second night we shared a meat plate (and of course red wine - Australian). On the meat plate we had delicious pulled pork, teriyaki pork, prosciutto, smoked salmon, lox, crayfish, shrimp and tuna pate accompanied with bacon marmalade, lemon aioli, sweet onion, coleslaw and mustard. All so delicious, full of flavour and fresh. Service was excellent, our waitress remembered what we drank the night before and we again had the same wine. Wonderful place to chill, eat, drink and enjoy the company and people watching as time just flies by!

A warm welcome,We selected the 6 course meal with the wines.Good service throughout with fun explanations of the wines that accompanied each dish. Also the dishes were fully described and were all very enjoyable.Attention to allergy details for one of us was very professionally dealt with and did not distract the enjoyment of the meal. We couldnât wish for a better celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary. When visiting Holland again, we will definitely come back.

Okay, we did not expect this...but what a find! Located in the training facility of the Stenden Hotel, this restaurant serves a killer meal for a extremely friendly price. They use the 80-20 concept (80% vegetable-20% protein) and still manage () to produce excellent dishes! We will be back!

Barrevoets is managed by two young guys that spell Hospitality with a capital H. It's a place to have coffee and cake. Normally they do not serve dinner but at this special pre-arranged occasion they did. It was 'no-frills', healthy and very tasty! We'll be back!

Restaurant By Ãs keeps it simple: one menu. You indicate how many courses you'd like to eat, and we'll arrange the rest. Our dishes change with the seasons and its' produce. This way, we reduce wastage together, while keeping our kitchen inspired as well.
Having not been overly impressed with Leeuwarden as cultural capital of Europe, however we were delighted to find this little gem of a restaurant, the food was excellent- beautiful complimentary flavours with knowledgeable helpful staff, who were lovely and not intrusive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and were we to visit the area again would make sure we visit. One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Loved the concept of no menu, but they do ask when booking if there is anything you don't like or have an allergy to.
