Started our rainy day, with breakfast at the Riverside Cafe. It had been a number of years, but it was what I remember. The atmosphere is typical old school restaurant. Located in the Riverside neighborhood, it is one of the friendliest places to go. Our meal was great and real tasty. As busy as they were our food came out quickly and hot. Great job guys. Can't wait for my next trip. Love this place. Home cooked food at its best.

This is a little diner that doesn't look like much on the outside. But man everything was delicious! My Chicken Caesar Salad was meaty and warm, absolutely delicious fries, everything was tasty. I had a chocolate milkshake which was stellar and I wish it was twice the size. I drank it in about 60 seconds. Highly recommended food.

Lighthouses! Lighthouses, everywhere!Awesome decor from the photographs, drawings and table tops to the ceramics, wood, models, you name it, these folks know their Beacons. The service is fast and friendly. The coffee was very good, the food is delicious with fair size (not grossly over sized) portions and the prices are great! This place is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside.Parking is darn near impossible next to the diner though; A VERY, VERY tight fit and one way only,if you can, squeeze your car/van past the dumpster. Forget about anything larger...Just park across the street at the two hour parking.

Jimmie's Family Diner has a great history all stemming from two individuals Walter L. Anderson and A.J. "Jimmie" King. Anderson is famous for starting the nation's first hamburger stand started in Wichita. He became so successful that he then opened two m
Weâve been to Jimmieâs before-once or twice but this last time was so delicious. Of course we ordered breakfast, seated rather quickly, good server, not too long wait for our food. We both ordered a variety of their scramble-scrambled eggs with additions. The portion was generous and 2 sides were plentiful too. Their âdollarâ pancakes were so much larger than we expected and very good. I had fried apples-so tasty warm cooked apples, cinnamon & bacon-yum. I did notice another diner having a fresh fruit cup which looked lovely...next time. Weâll be back...may need to try their lunch and dinner menu someday too.

Staff is very friendly, but the food was the star. I loved my bacon cheeseburger. I had heard they had good onion rings and decided to give them a try. They were perfect. The best I've had in a long, long time. I'll definitely be back.

They've renovated and lost a little of their Doo Dah funk in the process. Nevertheless, they've maintained their great staff and service as well as their to die for breakfast menu. They're opening a Wichita store next door - shades of Austin. Thanks for returning, and still loving our food and service. Really wish we knew what "funk" you were missing? Did you notice we doubled our seating capacity? The new comfortable booths. Enlarged bathrooms? Vestibule at the entrance to keep frigid/hot air out of dining room? We hope to earn that 5th star on your next visit. Thanks for taking the time to give us a good review!
