I visited here earlier today with my sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces. We did not enjoy the food or the service. My sister and I both ordered wraps which were bland and soggy. The lemon chicken soup had barely any noodles or chicken. The chicken consommé was just not good. The kid's meals were very pricey and not really kid friendly. My nieces had the grilled cheese and Mac and cheese but they weren't done kid style (hard to explain- basically they needed to be simpler). It was $8.50 for each kid's meal. Our server seemed annoyed at our presence generally particularly when we were asking questions about the menu. Some of the items we ordered never arrived. Also, the bathrooms smelled horrible. We will not be returning and do not recommend this place.

Standard diner food. The service was decent. I think our waitress got busy and forgot to give us our check for a little bit. Food is good though. Whole wheat banana walnut pancakes were awesome. Everyone was pleased. Nothing stood out from this place but if you want dinner food seems like a good choice

A dinner special for $22 was filling but, lacking the flavor and quality for which diners were once praised. It was OK. Chopped steak arrived well done but tasted fined. A small baked potato, a scoop of steamed vegetables, a small (very small) salad and a thick pasty cup of pea soup (which was not included) rounded out the meal. Again for the price what does one expect? But, it was completely average. I was most disappointed by the pea soup; I use to think that diners were defined by the quality of their pea soup and if that was the case, I'd never return to this diner! Service was fast and the friendly. What caught me off guard was being charged for a refill on the unsweetened Ice Tea. I was told that the reason for being charged twice was that the Ice Tea was a "Fountain" item that was separate from the dinner price. Its all about making ends meet. Average to Sub-average quality, small portions and pricey drinks sounds like a recipe that will either keep the place open or push customers away. Do yourself a favor, order the breakfasts, at least they are consistent and dependable.

Itâs a cold snowy day on Long Island. Itâs the perfect time for some chicken soup and a grilled cheese. I had a comfort lunch at the east bay diner. It hit the spot.

Lighthouse diner is excellent. Matt c has been my waiter here since 2010. Great experiences. Quality foods all the time even at 3am after a night at mulcahys before my ride home with Wantagh taxi and airport service. Lighthouse diner is the only game in town for me!
